New 2009 AG Wolf Range?

Did anyone get a new AG Wolf Range in the last month or so? If so were there any issues. Believe it or not I am supposed to get my 4th replacement soon. If there are still issues maybe I should get the refund. Any new owners have any information.

I don't know about being different I JUST WANT A STOVE THAT WORKS. I was hoping it was fixed. any info?

Maybe the old oven temp was high. ;-) Can you give us an example of what you are cooking and the time difference? It is possible that the thermometer you bought is off. You could always have Wolf come out and check it.

The AG's have a red light on the front that goes out when the temp is reached. It will go on and off as/when the gas cycles on/off to maintain the set temp. FWIW, we noticed our oven took longer, too, and the calibration checked out fine. It could be the learning curve of a new oven (e.g. old oven running hot) and it could also be going from a 30" to a 36" oven in our case. We suspect that food cooked in a larger oven cavity might take longer than in a smaller oven cavity. Think about it, a slice of pizza re-heated in a toaster oven heats up much quicker than in a regular oven, so it could be the same type of thing. If not, I have no clue.

Thank you! I think that may be it! The burner wasn't on low the two times it happened. It actually was on high. But I seem to recall the Vent-a-hood automatically adjusting the blower to a higher speed right before I heard the most recent pop. Perhaps the increased suction is causing a fluctuation in the flame and signaling the ignitor to fire. I'll pay closer attention the next time this happens.

The range is flanked by windows (like breezygirl's kitchen) so their are no upper cabinets to contend with. My concern was putting the range on some sort of platform (safety) so that it is high enough to clear the adjacent counters and what that would actually look like (aesthetic). Would it look odd to have so much clearance below the range? We currently have 37.5" tile countertops with an old (1980's) electric range/oven. There is a small drawer underneath it so that the height works. It looks fine, but with the Wolf the height of the actual appliance is greater and I was trying to envision how it would work in this new kitchen (this is new construction - not a remodel of the existing space). There is another thread (I couldn't find) about whether the cabinets get put in first and then the floor installed to the cabinets or if the floor gets installed first and the cabinets placed on top of the floor. If it is the first scenario, then I will gain some height from the floor. (Can someone point me to that thread?) I really don't want to switch to a rangetop. We've been back and forth so many times and I finally thought I had it all laid out properly with my desired appliances that will work for the space I have. It will be challenging to find space for a wall oven :( Thanks for any advice! Pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I just want to say you are very patient person to wait for a 4th replacement. I wanted this range more than anything but gave up after reading about the problems since 07. Just want to wish you good luck.

I can't believe you've been riding this out for so long. Aren't you losing your mind? I bailed after the 2nd replacement failed.

Has Wolf offered you a refund yet?

Yes they did offer a refund but the prices of ranges have gone up in the last year and a half. I am under the understanding that they only pay you the price you paid. I really don't know what other range besides a bluestar. I hate to start the shopping all over again.What about viking? Any one hear anything on them. I know they had a bad rap a fews years ago also. But all ranges manufacturers did. I also have a wolf range hood. I don't know what to do. That is why I asked here. All options are running thru my head. Help.

I was so fed up with the Wolf that I was also leaning heavily toward Viking because Bluestar was not available within the province of Ontario. Two things changed my mind: I went to see a Viking and didn't like the burners at all, and then Bluestar finally arrived and my decision was made.

I feel for you, but I'd save yourself a lot of hassle and take the money. Yes, they support their product and yes, they're very friendly on the phone, but I don't think they have a clue as to what's going on with the burner situation. No company goes around writing $5-6K cheques for ranges they can definitively diagnose and fix.

Lgiorgi, what kind of problems are you having? I am close to choosing my appliances and was really leaning heavily toward the DF Wolf. Should I change to something else???

Sassy do a search here on AG wolf since 07. It is unfortunate that this was one of the highest rated ranges for years. They claimed the only change was in the oven door opening but lots of poster had the same burner issue when they turned the oven on. If they had resolved the issue last by last April I would have gone with a Wolf.

Sassy, I do not recall this being an issue with the DF models, only the all gas.

My son has had an all gas one for 9 months without any problems.

I have had the DF Wolf range for 15 months and I LOVE IT!!!!.
I think the problems were with the All Gas.
