Comments (16)This is a pic of our shower using clips and silicone. The shower door is open. The silicone is along the wall and the bottom, where the glass meets the Torreon travertine. It is nearly invisible. The clips are drilled directly into the stone tile. There is framing behind it. (edit to say there are wood studs behind the tile) We initially did not have the rubber seal on the glass where it meets the door because the water did not splash out during the "test". The shower head is in the center of the shower but from this photo angle, it looks like it is close to the door. But once a body was in the shower, the water was deflected and came through the crack. Not a ton, but enough to need to wipe up instead of letting sit on the travertine floor. Hope that gives you a visual how clips will hold your glass....See MoreShower door vs curtain help please
Comments (6)Curtain or door, it does not matter. You can use either wherever you can fit them in. It is just the open shower with neither curtain nor door that requires that a shower have enough depth. You have told us the width, but not mentioned the depth of your shower. You ask about a curved rod and curb height, so it sounds like you want maximum depth to accommodate someone of size moving around inside and not wanting to hit the curtain. My new shower is about 36" deep and I have no problem with the shower curtain and I am a very wide woman (size 3X to 4X) with very large arms, hips, and legs. My curtain hangs straight down, since I have a no-curb shower. I imagine if you were able to put weights in the hem you could keep a curved shower curtain behind any curb more easily....See MoreGlass doors or shower curtain for step-in shower?
Comments (11)I have a wheelchair accessible shower - no lip whatsoever. I use a heavy vinyl shower curtain from Hammacher Schlemmer here. It does not billow outward whatsoever. It billows inward just a bit. I have never had any water exit the shower using either the traditional wall shower head or the rain shower in the center of the shower. My trench drain is right under where the shower curtain hangs. My curtain just hits the floor. You could do a few things if you have a lighter shower curtain liner. You can add weights to the bottom of the curtain by sewing them into a hem on a fabric curtain. These Pie Weights would work for that, if you get enough. They are 10" each, so maybe you get three and place one on each end and one in the middle. Lead fishing weights might be easiest because they have a slot in them, through which you can put thread to sew them in place. You may be able to side the shower curtain fabric into a slot, I don't know. Or you can hot glue or sew weights to the bottom of a shower curtain on the outside of the curtain. If you get pairs of magnets, you can add weight to a hem by placing magnets on either side of the fabric, with the back side of one magnet locking onto the front side of another on the other side of the fabric. Or use these steel washers on one side of the curtain and rare earth magnet on the other side. Or these sets that give you the magnet, a steel cup to hold it, and a steel washer for it to hold onto. That sounds pretty heavy. The steel cup may help keep the magnet from attaching to your wheelchair if it gets too close....See Moretandt_tnt
