Put a humidifier in the bedroom and the other room in the house where you spend a lot of time. It works wonders for me in the winter when the heat is on. I use generic petroleum jelly on my hands before bed, which helps a lot. I also use it on my lips and around my nose when I have a cold and that area becomes chapped. I only do the petroleum jelly at night. During the day I use Olay Total Effects with SPF 15, because the sun really damages skin, even in the winter. I do the same as paloma2001 as far as patting dry and moisturizing right after a shower- I even have a poof sponge with a handle to get my back. I do a fish oil capsule every morning, but since I tend to eat a lot of Mexican food (even at breakfast) I don't have a problem with the fish burps- I have other issues LOL! Hope this helps.

Lascatx and kswl, I found Beautypedia after posting here the other day. It's owned by Paula Begoun, The Cosmetics Cop (Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me The Original Beauty Bible). Philosophy and Hope in a Jar are not rated very high there on average, but if they are working for you then that's great. Roc, DD1 just looked over my shoulder and said she used to use a few Epicuren products, but prefers SkinCeuticals. She just started using a sample of SkinCeuticals Resveratrol B E - expensive, but loves it. I borrowed, used once and it was nice. I have been using (don't laugh) varies systems of Principal Secret since 1997. Every time she creates a new system I try and end up moving on to it. Currently using the Reclaim Botanical and discovered some eye serum and something for fine lines starting over my upper lip (need to stop kissing those grandbabies so much!). I'm going to use these and see if there is an improvement. If not, I will try something else. Anyway, the PS must be working because everyone always says what great skin I have, even at the dermatologist office. I've started doing a series of three 5% glycolic peels once a year (each 2-3 weeks apart) and I can really see the difference in my skin afterwards. DD1 got samples of m-61 Power Glow Peels from BlueMercury and said they have helped her skin. There is just so much out there, like said above, it gets confusing. And it's not inexpensive to try new things. What works for some, doesn't work for all and it can get frustrating. fyi, DD1 found the list of authorized SkinCeauticals websites, and the one I asked about in my original post is a no.

I read that article, but there is a lot wrong with it, starting with the assumption that just because a procedure is expensive it must work well. I can well remember playing a dinner at world famous jeweler's on Worth Avenue quite a few years ago, at a time when they were starting to get back a lot of their more significant pieces, 'cause the heirs didn't want jewelry that had to live in the bank. It was also the time when the women who were of the Ali McGraw generation (little LP shift, pulled back short ponytail) were starting to get way up there in age. You don't get an invite to a private dinner for a necklace unless you have some moola to spend, and this necklace traveled with a retinue, including one guy whose whole job it was to take the necklace out of the case and put it on the stand, then put it on the model for the walkaround, then put it away again. I didn't play during walkarounds (they wanted everyone focused on the jewelry), and he came over and sat next to me, in very high glee. "Look at this one, look at this one!" he chortled as another woman who should have known better than to maintain that cruel hairstyle after 70 came under his eye. "Even money can't save you!" And of course he was right. Yeah, the super-rich look groomed, but in reality their skin mostly doesn't look that much better than that of the middle classes.
