I just got home from taking my son to SFO to fly to Spain for a year of study abroad, and on the way home I stopped in Berkeley to see an old school friend who I have recently reconnected with via Facebook. She and her husband make organic skin care products and it was fascinating to see all the natural ingredients that go into them. They had pots of things bubbling away that will eventually be distilled and incorporated into their products. She sent me home with some products and I will report back on how I like them.

For one thing I could never let the hair on my legs get that long! As I have gotten older I don't have to shave my legs as often as I once did but I can't stand it when it starts to rub the bed sheets.I have been known to get up at 2 in the morning and shave my legs because of it.LOL Waxing would just take too long in my opinion.The few times I have used hair removal products on my legs there were hairs left that I had to shave anyway.I can shave my legs a lot faster and with a lot less mess.I found a hair removal product from HSN that I have used on my face and arms.It is Serious Skin Care Liquid Laser.There is a formula that is for the face.I love this product.My face is sensitive to a lot of cosmetics but this works great with no irritation.It sounds a little pricey but it is well worth it.You can go to HSN and type in Serious Skin Care products and find it.

I have a less expensive version of the Sonic. I love it! It cleans and lightly exfoliates your skin. I bought it after listening to my DD rave about hers, (she has the sonic) and after hearing Dr. Oz recommend them. Bought my first one at Walmart, then my second one from my skin care rep. I would recommend that you get a less expensive version first, if you want to test the waters before committing to the Sonic.

Gail and Shee-- I was pretty nervous about trying a peel at home, too, so I have only used the Mandelic Acid peel. It is supposed to be very mild and there isn't downtime associated with it. I started off with the 25% formula but now do 40%. They recommend you use it once for 2 weeks and then once every 4 days, I think. You can keep it on 2-5 minutes based on what you can tolerate. I started off with 5 min. with both formulas and the worst sensation I had was a little tingling and redness only while it was on. I've ordered other product samples, too, but I do think the peels have made the biggest difference, or should I say, most immediate difference. I haven't asked them to help me pick products yet so that's my next step instead of experimenting on my own. However, other keepers for me are the Argan Oil and Green Tea Moisturizer. There are a few products that also help with hair regrowth which I've been using on my eyebrows and I do see a difference which is pretty amazing. If you want to use stronger peels then I'd probably write to them and ask what you need in terms of prep, removal, and all that. I'll likely move up to those eventually. ETA: I forgot to say they always seem to have a 20% coupon if you look under "Today's Deal." Every once in awhile they have a flash sale for 30% they tell you about via email but it's only a few hours and I am never fast enough to get it.
