New 36' French Door Style Liebherr- has anyone seen it?
Comments (3)The new Liebherr F/D is listed to be launched in June. Liebherr currently only have two in the US doing a tour of shows. In my experience Liebherr will hit the June launch. Having said that things happen.... the only spec sheet can be found on the link below which you may have seen before. Liebherr are expecting big things from this 36" which has been designed and built especially for the US market. Here is a link that might be useful: Liebherr 36...See MoreSide by Side Refrigerator or Freezer on bottom?
Comments (43)I guess, it's a matter a choice, liking and preference more than anything else. We had an old sxs but my spouse was so much impressed with the new stainless, french door one that well, now we replaced the old sxs with the new french door one. Seems to be working great so far but then again, we cook much more fresh food than using freezer ones and so there are days when we don't have to open the freezer at all. If you don't want an external water/ice dispenser, the price difference between the sxs and french door ones is not that excessive but I guess you need to have the patience and the knack to sense good deals at stores. Just do your homework and you would be able to easily beat any advertised store prices buy 25%-30% easily after tax. The depth of the french door ones seems to be a bit more than the sxs ones and so take that into consideration as well. When we were remodeling our kitchen, I missed out on that one but fortunately, the contractor was able to work it out....See MoreHas anyone gone from a main floor master to a second floor, backwards?
Comments (37)I had completely forgotten about this being a lake home so AnnKH had a great point about how a front garage would actually be a rear garage (or something like that). So I think the point about maximizing the views and accessibility on the lakeside is definitely more important that worrying about a 'snout' garage. But, here is our first floor floor-plan. We are on a 100' wide city lot (unfortunately no lake views) and this house is 71.5' wide. The deepest part of the house, not including porches is 41'8". It was deeper than I wanted, but the rooms in the middle of the house (closets, laundry, etc) don't need windows so I'm OK with it. Our second floor has three additional bedrooms plus a bonus/loft space. We've got 2 kids, ages 11 and 13. No basements here in Texas....See MoreNew Dacor refrigerator and freezer columns
Comments (5)I have an 18 month Dacor full column fridge and the cooling system is not working (under warranty). It's been 3 weeks, 2 repair visits and I'm still out of a fridge because they can't fix it and Dacor doesn't want to replace it. The repair person said this is a known issue yet if Dacor was proactive in keeping their customers happy, they should reach out and fix this issue but instead, waiting for customers to complain first. In addition, when you open the fridge, you see the mechanisms that operate the door and fridge at the top which is an eye sore. The trim kit to cover this, is not included with the purchase of the fridge which is ridiculous after spending so much money, I don't recommend!...See Moretubeman
