Hello,

Mostly I have been a lurker and have learned alot from this site.We broke ground last Feb and hopefully we will be done in the next few weeks.I am at the point I want to put this behind me and talk about something other than the house when my husband and I go on date night.I have not been adding photos because I am very new to this.I just opened a photobucket account and hopefully this link works.Thanks for everyones help.

Your house is beautiful. Love the kitchen, the doors and the setting. I noted that the lighting fixtures are all covered. It looks like you have people who are taking care while they work!! How soon to move in?

kksmama - you can see the finished kitchen post with my backsplash. I linked to it below. I probably should have been ABB longer because my first attempt was a disaster and I decided to pay to have it ripped out and replaced with something completely different. And even the new one, I assumed that the tiles would be spaced further apart with more prominent grout lines but found out too late I was wrong. tbo123 - cabinets were sprayed. fireplace update picture story... almost done

Okay, all done! I have no idea why I hesitated on doing the hearth. I think it looks fine. It's off a speck in tone. It was a little challenging getting it to match the top part. Should have done it all once in the same session. The bricks were different texture so it went on differently and looks a bit different, but it blends fine in the room. I'm very pleased with the whole thing. Now onto the bathroom... I uploaded some rather sad whole-room pics on the website too. They are at the end of the album. New Kitchen Almost Done!

We have made some progress! Last weekend I re-stained some of the big pantry doors and filled holes in the new drawers that Jim made and got a first coat of stain on them. I also sanded and stained the shelves for the bookshelf. Today I sanded the rest of the 20 drawers (about 18 of them) and stained 14 of them. One is already done and in service, so that leaves me with only 5 drawers left to stain. The 14 may need a little touch-up here and there, but for the most part, not. So maybe next week I will have all the drawers done. I have decided that we will put them into their places in the kitchen once the stain is dry, but not put things in them until we have gotten the three coats of polyurethane on them. DH carefully cleaned the island today and put on a coat of sealer on the tiles and grout. He says he will do another coat tomorrow night. He also got two coats of polyurethane on the cabinets in the kitchen,though he inexplicably skipped the island and desk cabs. This weekend we got a lot of little things done, putting things away, hanging the valance in the family room, shortening and installing a piece of wood trim that was on the left side of the fireplace. DH picked up the ceiling hooks we need for hanging the plants on either side of the kitchen window, so we could install them one day soon. That leaves us with 30 door fronts left to stain and poly (some are already sanded), the back of the island to stain and poly, baseboards in the kitchen to stain, poly and install, and baseboards in the family room to buy, stain, poly, and install. I also need to do a little touch-up painting. And the backsplash needs to be installed, grouted, and sealed. Okay, I am tired and going to bed! Tomorrow I am changing the name of this thread to "New Kitchen Will be Done Next Summer!"

Lovely. I like the beams and tile in your kitchen, I also love the hood. Your daughter's bathroom is gorgeous. My favorite style is french country and your home is beautiful.

Thanks for the pics! The kitchen is absolutely lovely. (All of the copper accents are to die for!) I also love the use of sconces throughout the home...it really personalizes the space. I'm sure that you and your family must be so excited for move-in day. Congratulations!

OH MY I am in LOVE with your house! Your DD's bath is breath taking! I am impressed they covered your light fixtures. First thing I said to myself when I saw that was DANG, wish I had thought of that! LOL!

The kitchen is my favorite but your view is to die for! Everything is very nicely done. Great job! I can not wait to see more pictures!

That is one spectacular house. Better than any Street of Dreams I've seen! I love all the beautiful intricate details. I sure hope you share once you've moved in and decorate your beautiful, gorgeous home!

Wow-thanks ladies for all the nice compliments.There was way too many decisions.You all thought the builder was the one who covered the light fixtures,my husband spent a Saturday doing that.I feel like I know you all even though I have not been posting.Hopefuly we will move in the beginning of Feb.some time.

What a beautiful home you have! I love your railings with the trim work and the light. They really are lovely together. Also love your fireplace in the master bedroom. Is it a gas one? Where did you get the surround and the fireplace?

What a truly well put-together vision! I'm curious...did you have an architect, or an architectural designer, and did you choose all the intricate details, or did you have input from your architect or builder?

That's one of my concerns (out of millions)... I honestly don't think I could put together a house even HALF as gorgeous as yours is! Congrats again!

Looks like you really sweated our the details. Beautiful! I think you definitely achieved the French feel you were going for.
Inquiring minds want to know...Did you enlist the help of an interior designer or other to 'pull it all together' or just happen to be blessed with the ability to do it all yourself? It had to have taken an incredible amount of time on your part, either way!

WOW I'm very happy to see it, we build new home at spring, and I bought the same copper rangehood and farmhouse sink, I don't have it yet because I would receive it in one or two months. I know when you buy it The rangehood is empty, what do you put inside?????

My goodness...your home is GORGEOUS. That kitchen is to die for. I love the sink, the hood, the granite, the backsplash...it all works together really well. And the view from the back of your home is fantastic. I love the arches. I also think the mosaic in your daughter's bath is so pretty and fun...perfect for a little girl! Great job.
