The price difference is usually that one color is being added or continued--the higher priced one-- and the other color is being discontinued. Or the lower priced color isn't selling as well, so it's on sale to move more product. I have to buy wide width shoes, which many shoe stores don't carry, or they only buy one pair of wide shoes per size, i.e. they may buy 20 pairs of size 7 and one pair of size 7 wide. So I do most of my shoe buying on the internet. It's just like any other store--popular things sell out quickly. And these days, on-line retailers seem to be carrying less inventory than they did even 5 years ago. I've noticed if I don't buy something right when I see it the first time, if I come back, several sizes and colors will be sold out. Fewer sales, too.

Thanks Ded. I have done a ton of research on it. Problem is that most medical professionals don't have a lot of experience with it (mine is congenital, not related to injury or cancer). And the treatments are worse than the condition! I love all those Clarks shoes-but it looks like they may all be too tight at the top of my foot. Also the backs look high-that causes them to rub against my ankle. I either need really low in the back, or higher than my ankle. Good luck! I know I'm never going to find cute shoes any more-that's pretty much a given, so I'm now just looking for COMFORTABLE that isn't orthopedic looking. Honestly, my most comfy shoes are my steel toe boots! They give me lots of support and they automatically make you walk differently than other types of shoes, so it mimics my lymphedema gait better. You've all been a great help-I'll keep searching the Clarks site-maybe I'll luck in to something.

I was always just like you describe--hated shoes, hated buying them, resented the money I had to spend on them, absolutely detested wearing them. Had never had a truly comfortable pair of shoes in over 55 years. At any given time, it was rare for me to have more than about 3-5 pairs (one dressy, a pair or 2 of sandals, a pair or 2 of sneakers. Like you, my feet are over 1/2 size different from each other. Then I had a foot problem and made a visit to a WOMAN podiatrist. Not only did she help the immediate problem that sent me to her, but she evaluated my feet--they're basically shaped differently than most of the population--and she recommended a couple of brands of shoes. Now? I LOVE shopping for shoes, love wearing them. I'm more comfortable in them than out of them now that I have great shoes that fit well, and I don't mind paying $50-60 per pair, because I know I'm getting my money's worth--in both comfort and quality (the first pairs I bought at her recommendation, over 3 years ago have been worn a lot, but still look like brand new). Guess my point is, maybe finding the right brand of shoes for your feet might make a difference to you. This is one branch of medicine where I believe it's important for a woman patient to see a dr. who is a woman--not only do they know the medical info, but they undertand fashion concerns as well, and can give really good advice. If you could find a brand that is as comfortable for you, as I have--might be worth spending a few $$$ for a podiatrist visit? Good luck.

Good luck. I couldn't always get my size for everything I wanted, but I got a pair of the athletic shoes. Been procrastinating because I didn't want to spend on them right now.
