A friend of mine sent me a letter that will help you collect up to 36 free pair of flip flops. Here's how it works: You send a pair to the first name on the top of the list, move the second name to the top position and then put your name in the second position and send the letter to 6 friends who each send it to 6 of their friends, who all send you flip flops. Everyone needs to follow through in order for it to work well, but one of my friends has received 10 pair so far. She said it's been really fun for her to see where they all come from (all over the US). If you are interested in participating, let me know and I'll pass the letter on to you.

This is called a chain letter. They are illegal. To understand just Google it. Pyramid schemes don't work and end up taking advantage of people at worst and fizzle out early at best. The flip-flop scheme has been around for some time.

WOW! Thanks for the heads up! I had no idea this was a chain letter or that it was an illegal activity. When I Googled, there were multiple news articles about the Great Flip-FLop Scam. I was not aware that this scheme had been around for such a LONG time! "Unsuspecting citizens bilked out of millions of pairs of flip-flops over the years by a hardened crime ring now doing time in Alcatraz for their heinous crimes." Who would have ever thought? I was invited to participate by my best friend from high school---whose 9 year old daughter was invited by one of her 9 year old friends. You know---I've always suspected that they were a crime family and now this confirms it. I wonder if the FBI is looking for them??? Gotta go...I'm going to do my good deed for the day and turn them in...

I can't offer definitive advice, but instead just a few ideas... Is the tub used on a regular basis? I'm wondering if by flipping the tub and extending the tub's branch line (the horizontal run that connects the tub's drain trap to the vertical DWV stack), that the tub's trap is being siphoned dry due to inadequate venting. A dry trap could allow sounds from elsewhere in the plumbing to "echo" out of your tub drain. A dry trap (or a poorly vented trap) would be my first guess. Even if the trap isn't dry, if his changes compromised the vent system, you could be hearing a "gurgling" sound as air bubbles percolate through the water in the tub's trap. A dry trap, or an improperly vented trap, that would be my first point of attack. One other quick thought is the trap location. Did he move it so it's under the new drain location? If he left the trap at the original location, and now you have 4' of horizontal drain pipe before the water hits the trap...that could be a siphoning/venting issue too. Again, I'm no plumber. Just a few ideas to get you started.

lenam, a friend of mine owns a shoe store that sells Danskos, Birkenstocks, etc. and says that all the flip flop wearers is what keeps in him in business (including me). They usually end up in his store HAVING to buy his shoes with more support, mainly from PF. I still wear flip flops on occasion, but years of wearing them constantly is what gave me PF. Can't give them up entirely though-LOL! Now I have to buy the Birkenstock sandals (not the original style) that are patent black or red and silver, the dressiest and least "clunkiest" I can find. I have just about every color. Not my favorite look, but I ruined my feet wearing flip flops, with no support for years and years. I hadn't worked a job, so I wore flip flops every day in the warm months.

Odd noise coming from tub drain

Not really gulping air, more like an echo of water in an attached pipe. It's hard to describe. The reply on my xpost was that I could be caused by a dry trap. The contractor, today, installed the rest of the fixutres and ran the water down the tub drain. I have yet to hear the noise, so that may have been it.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. It is great to have support when even simple jobs go awry. Yes, it was their mistake, and I am sure if I noticed and pointed it out before I left the store they would have remade it at no charge. I will try to return it, and if they won't take it back I will probably donate it to ReStore as we have already painted the bathrooms and don't want to do them just now.

The problem is also size. People's feet vary quite a lot. A nine year old's feet won't fit the same size I do or hardly anyone elses either. If you end up with 36 pairs of flip flops proabably only a few would actually fit.

When you add your name to the list, you include your shoe size...But remember, it's against the law...
