Toto Soiree 1.25 vs. 1.6
Comments (2)I can't comment on the Soiree but we just got a Toto EcoMax which is 1.28, I believe. It replaced a low-flow toilet in my kid's bathroom. We have had it since December and my son has yet to clog it up where as the previous toilet would routinely clog every couple of weeks or so. We also love the softclose seat....See Morekateskouros & Others - Comments on Your Toto Lloyd Toilets?
Comments (9)Hi three_acres - I really like the looks of the Guinevere, but have been leaning toward a 1.6 gallon flush vs. the 1.28 from what I've read here. I'm in the metro DC area, and knowledgeable sales folks here say the Gmax is better than the newer Cyclone, but who really knows??!! Still haven't made a final decision, all I know for sure is that I want an elongated, skirted toilet from Toto, and not something too contemporary looking, as our house is pretty traditional. I need to find a Lloyd so I can see it in person, but it was one of the finalists when I was checking out Toto's website. And then I also saw that kateskouros got these, and I like her style. I likely will make purchases locally, with a 25% discount or so. But I've been price shopping online just to check (and maybe with a call you can get better pricing?) - but the irawoods.com website looks pretty good -- large selection and good pricing. (I have no affiliation, just found them through google and other sources.) I agree, I like the Sanagloss feature, but a lot of folks on Gardenweb have said they can't tell a huge difference (but maybe I've missed some posts on this?) -- let me know what you hear. We are hoping to start construction soon. Good luck with your project, hope it goes well! I think the look of the Lloyd will be perfect for your reno :-)...See MoreToto Toilets - Guinevere, Soiree, Carlyle, Ultramax
Comments (24)Hi Vineyard & Pinktoes... The Soiree (mine is an elongated bowl, Sedona Beige) is right up against the bathroom wall. You cannot clean the floor behind the toilet. I just clean the top of that white floor base with a long skinny duster on a stick and wipe down the sides of the toilet. I've had mine about six months now, and not a lick of trouble out of it. Flushes each and every time. I also have a Toto tub - Model 1715. Very happy with it. In my 3/4 bath, I have a Toto UltraMax. Love it; never clogs. I went the distance with Toto products...I installed Toto faucets in both baths and tub. My plumber clued me in to Toto and, IMO, it has proven to be a superior product. Comments (37)Adding to this thread for anyone considering a DXV... I spent a lot of time considering plumbing fixtures for my home addition. I love the look and feel of the DXV Fitzgerald, and got the console for my powder room and undermount sink for my master, along with the matching toilets. The functionality seems great (nice flush and solid feel) however, on both toilets, the white porcelain is different colors -- the tanks are a grayish white compared to the rest. I'm still trying to work this out with Ferguson and the manufacturer... something to be aware of. When shopping for my fixtures, the Ferguson rep made the point that if you want your whites to match, go with all the same manufacturer (rather than mixing, say a Kohler toilet with a DXV sink). I did that and yet the whites are still not matching. I've had guests comment on my "two-toned toilet" -- not the look I was going for....See Morenycbluedevil
