The deer seem to like some of the plants from the Lily family. I'm growing several different Lily varieties, including the 8 foot bushy Breck's LilyTrees and found out that the Dial soap in the colorful socks seem to keep them away from my flower and veggies. The deer seem to pass up my area when passing through the evergreens and other trees behind my house. But, they visit my neighbors yards and wander through them and cross the streets via same, but, not mine... When I lived on a couple acres in a heavly treed area area beforehand and had a veggie garden 120 feet long by about 30 feet wide and had a 4 foot fence around same, they would jump the fence and visit my 20 foot long raised beds that were full of veggie crops. There, had raccons that gave me some competition and would even beat me to my corn when it was ready for picking and the like along with some other crops too... Now, in a senior citizens development and container gardening. This year, have 10 containers alongside the house/building that contain Lily flowers and a few veggies in the 30 to 50 gallon Rubber Maid type containers, both circular and oblong. Drilled holes in the bottom of the containers for drainage, and bars of Dial soap in the socks near all of them, and hanging off of the tomato cages etc. I like to use the Square Foot Garden method in the containers. THE PHOTO: Had just planted veggies last month in these 4 containers and have netting across same to keep the birds away from the newly planted herbs and veggie plants. Note the bar of soap hanging off of the waggon wheel. Added more of same to this area to keep the deer away... Have the Pink Flamingos "on Duty" in NJ... Very sorry to hear about your experience aa1notary. I have no experience whatsoever with that product nor any bias one way or the other, but most often times water infiltration is due to installation issues as opposed to the product itself. The video has expired, but it sounds like perhaps you have horizontal sliders? Something as simple as caulked over or clogged weep holes could cause water to accumulate in the sill... Again, sorry to hear about your experience. I'd recommend having the installation company out to inspect, and possibly in conjunction with that manufacturer rep so that they cannot each blame each other when the other is not present.

I know how you feel, as I asked for some advice in a different posting and never got any responses at all. Guess I can try and weigh in, seeing how we both live in the same city and have access to a lot of the same products. I haven't heard of the windows you are talking about, so I can't say whether or not they're good products. I just had 3 reputable local companies come out and give me estimates on vinyl replacement windows and pretty much all of the brands they showed me were good and names I had never heard of. All had nice welds, colors, weather stripping, etc.. After a while they all start to look the same, and I realized that it's best to just find a company that does reputable work and use whatever product they're selling. I've read it many times on other forums--installation is key. A medium grade window, installed correctly, is better than a high end with a bad install. If the company you are looking at does good work and has been around a while, then it's worth considering them.

well those prices are something! 9K ?? for what? those are fiberglass? are you sure it's for the door alone? look at this link and the prices. even with customizing, I don't see how you can add 6K to the price! https://www.homedepot.com/p/Steves-Sons-64-in-x-80-in-Savannah-Clear-6-Lite-LHIS-Mahogany-Stained-Wood-Prehung-Front-Door-with-Double-12-in-Sidelites-M6410-123012-CT-4ILH/206188786 this is actual wood too. mahogany. pre-hung. it's less than 2500 Here, same size https://www.homedepot.com/p/Steves-Sons-64-in-x-80-in-Craftsman-Savannah-6-Lite-LHIS-Autumn-Wheat-Mahogany-Wood-Prehung-Front-Door-with-Double-12-in-Sidelite-M6410-123012-AW-4ILH/304245554 here's a douglas fir w/lots of custom options. 1700.00 https://custom.homedepot.com/custom-doors/p/Krosswood-Doors-Krosswood-Classic-Douglas-Fir-Exterior-Wood-Door/315188343/51879-Pre-Hung/51881-Single/51885-36-x-80/51891-38-x-82/51900-Grey/57420-6-Lite/52016-Left-Hand-Inswing/52019-5-1-2 I gave you other choices for doors at under 3K. the transom you can do seperately. maybe adding it w/the door ups the price. Or, better yet, since the siding is getting replaced, just cover the transom. up to you Instead of side lights, could you do double doors? or one larger door and one side lite? https://www.wayfair.com/filters/smooth-prefinished-fiberglass-prehung-front-entry-door-l7233-k~vron3559-a126048~470889-a126051~450654-a136111~450656.html
