Wow! I used the Blinc mascara yesterday for the first time. The only problem I had using it is that if you curl your eyelashes (and I do) you have to do that before you put mascara on, which is the opposite of my normal routine. The only problem with that is that the lashes are closer to my lids then and I got a little bit of mascara on my lid. But a wet swab cleaned it up with no smearing. Sometime during the day I totally forgot that I was wearing the new mascara, so I forgot to check before I went to bed to see if the claim that it stays put with no smearing was accurate. And I'm a bad girl - I often go to bed with my makeup on, which I did last night. I wash my face first thing every morning, even before I shower (helps wake me up). Well, after I washed (still not remembering I had used the Blinc) when I looked at the towel I saw a couple of black squigglies and I remembered the Blinc. So I washed my face again, lightly rubbing my fingers across my lashes. Like magic, the tubes all came off and there was no residual smudges you sometimes get with regular mascara. Jamies, you don't "pull" on your lashes at all, so there is no worry about losing lashes. I think I'm going to like this product.

Bev, thanks for the warning, lol... It smells of cloves, so I've been using it on my feet only, before I put on socks- I don't mind the smell but I would not want it on my upper body where the smell would hit me... One of the jars of Skin Milk cream I brought back smelled rancid, that tell tale nutty smell, so that went in the trash; the other Skin Milk products I bought smell fresh...... a faint vanilla smell; I love the body scrub. For 5.99 each, they are a good product....

Sharlee, if you are looking for good quality, inexpensive, make-up brushes, buy at an artist supply store or craft store. Waaay cheaper than buying a brand name brush at a department store cosmetics counter. Lipstick brushes usually come in it's own plastic or metal case, so that they not only stay clean and don't pick up any lint in your purse, but they won't transfer lipstick to everything in your purse that it comes in contact with. You can find these with cases at dimestores and the quality is pretty much the same as department store lipstick brushes. For at home use, a case-less brush is fine to use since it won't be rolling around in your purse. BTW lipstick brushes aren't really sold so that one can be frugal with lipstick, even though it is frugal to use them. They are used so that they lipstick is applied more accurately. Professional make-up artist use them to achieve the perfect lip line. Tell your rude friend that you use the lipstick brush because you are a perfectionist when applying make-up and offer to buy one for her so her lipstick dosen't look so crooked on her. Heh-he-he. Say it in a "helpful" way. ++++ I remember my Mom's cake mascara too. They sold cake mascara right up to the 70's. I believe it is not sold anymore due to health regulations. Adding water to the product also added bacterial contamination, and the mascara acted as a nutrient medium for this bacteria to grow. One of the bigger problems was that there was often no water available when one wanted to touch up their make-up and saliva was often used as a substitute. Yuck. Eye infections are no fun. This same reasoning is why they do not sell salt tablets that were mixed with water for saline solution, for contact lense wearers. Only saline solution can be sold now. The FDA frowns on home chemistry.

Romy, I'm using the same BB brush. I would like one with a even finer tip though. I did expect that it would dry out which is why I didn't buy any other color once I knew it would work. I will wait until this dries out and toss it. Yes we are both about the same age and thank you for the Jose Maran recommendation for the gel blush. I'm going to google it. I was actually hoping to try a gel blush so you've inspired me to try it. Outside, do try the L'Oreal. I am just so tickled with this foundation. The last time I used a drug store type foundation was probably forty years ago or more because I normally purchased Lancôme. I do like the Laura Mercier a tad more but the L'Oreal is perfect for every day. I tried a YSL foundation that was highly rated and it doesn't even come close to the L'Oreal. I returned it because fortunately they sent me the wrong shade. I didn't notice the error until I used it and thought the color was too light. That's when I discovered it was BR20 Ivory not the BR20 Beige that I ordered. It just didn't go on flawlessly and I had to do quite a bit of blending to do to make it look acceptable. I haven't tried the BB eye pencil but will keep it in mind. Catty, the gal who did the review for the make-ups I mentioned is more my age than your's but she still has an oily T zone which I don't have so I would think either of the foundations I mentioned might do the trick for you. Can you just powder the T zone. I have a Chanel compact that is quite a nice powder. I don't normally use powder but will use a quick go over when going out for an evening. Mitch, the Maybeline might be a great alternative. Frankgin, is the Revlon Color Stay a pencil or a pot eyeliner? It is definitely worth a try either way. Pippiep, I tried the Stila liquid liner and it doesn't' the work for me because my hands are a bit shaky so I always made quite a mess trying to get it on. It was an all day lasting eyeliner and if I were better at applying it I would have had a winner. Some blushes seem to just get absorbed by my skin and give me no color. Are the Tarte blushes a powder or a cream?
