Homemade Cappuccino Mix

My teenage granddaughter has taken a liking to McDonald's vanilla flavored cappuccino (which one of my daughter's says tastes so awful she threw it away when she tried one!). My granddaughter's birthday is coming up and I thought it would be fun to give her a jar of homemade cappuccino mix. Does anyone have a recipe for something like this?

I use the exact recipe that Marlen posted. It's wonderful! Matter of fact, I just today made the recipeX4, and filled 6 containers - ready for gift giving! (But I use 3 heaping teaspoons per cup.)

Look at the label - if it's the typical kind of stuff it probably has sugar as the first ingredient and non-dairy creamer or the equivalent (corn syrup solid and veg oil) as the second. If it's that kind of stuff, then no problem - sugar will give the bugs some quick, easy C.

Here is another option for you - it has worked for us - although I know there are many recipes that may work just as well or better. Recipe for planting seeds: 1 - gallon coco peat (Coir) 1/4 - gallon well composted fine compost 1/4 - cup colloidal phosphate 1/4 - cup glacial rock dust (Azomite) 1/4 - cup greensand We use the green mixing tray in the photo to mix our seed planting soil mixture. Container soil recipe: 1 - cup blood meal or cotton seed meal 1 - cup colloidal phosphate 1 - cup greensand 1 - cup glacial rock dust (Azomite) 4 - #10 cans of peat moss 4 - #10 cans of coco peat (Coir) 3 - #10 cans of vermiculite 2 - #10 cans of clean excellent garden soil 3 - #10 cans of compost We mix the container soil recipe in our electric cement mixer - much easier - then scoop it as needed out of the cement mixer. We developed our recipe from viewing many options on the internet. We use Azomite because it mined close by in central Utah. There are many substitutes for the ingredients and one just has to find what is readily available in your area. We have found that mixing our own potting/container soil does save money if the ingredients are available in your area without paying freight costs to ship it in. It does require some storage space however to stack the bags of peat moss, coir, vermiculite, etc. - mixing our own potting/container soil works for us.

Homemade herb container soil mix not working?

I wanted to make a container herb garden along my backyard fence, and had a supply of large cattle mineral/molasses tubs to use as planters. I punched drainage holes, then filled with a homemade mix consisting of: Peat Cotton burr compost Sand (leftover from construction) Perlite Composted goat manure I then watered it in and planted my herbs (most from 2" or 4" pots). Its been over two weeks, and most of the plants aren't growing. I have 6 containers total. I'm thinking I may have screwed up by using so much cotton burr and goat manure composts. I also didn't do a soil test on the mix, but will this weekend. I'm thinking of replacing the top 6" or 8" of material with a bought soilless mix, unless the homemade mix can be salvaged. I'm open to suggestions...

Homemade dehydrated bean soup mix

Floral, I use beans a lot, but usually not a mixture. I make baked beans, refried beans, hummus, various bean dips, bean soup, sometimes just a "mess of beans", and sometimes I make them specifically for salad. The mixed beans I simmer with all those vegetables I mentioned above, or whatever is ready in the garden, or whatever I have in the crisper drawer, whatever suits me. I add a smoked turkey leg, a ham bone, some bacon or maybe none of those, depending on what I have. Sometimes I use chicken broth for the liquid but usually it's just water. It's very flexible, LOL. I always add a bay leaf, salt and pepper to taste. Sometimes it gets fresh thyme or some garlic if I think of it, it's all good. I like to throw in a handful of barley or some brown rice, sometimes I have leftover rice and that goes in at the end because it's already cooked. I do find that dried beans have to cook for a couple of hours, at least, to reach a texture I like. I don't want them firm, I want them "creamy". And, Elery, being from Tennessee, always wants cornbread, which i bake in a cast iron skillet. Thanks, Plllog, I thought you meant crack them when they were dry, not soaked, so that makes it more clear.

change, use the french vanilla coffee creamer. I also
like mine over ice

umm... you know Cappuccino is simple to make at home the RIGHT way (without some stupid mix)!

1)just brew up a shot of espresso (or two) - I suppose regular coffe could be substituted for a weaker version

2)add some hot milk

3)add dolop of frothed milk

thats all there is too it!

btw, there shouldn't be any sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, or chocolate for an authentic cappuccino. - these can be added sparingly on top to taste.

I have bought Cappuccino Mix (Folgers has one out, as well as the Int'l Coffee one), and was disappointed to taste chocolate in both of them.

Whoever "somebody" is that posted above, is right. There's not suppose to be chocolate in Cappuccino, just a sprinkling of cocoa on top.

I'm trying to figure out how to make something like Starbucks Frappuccino at home in good-sized quantities for parties. Adding espresso to a glass of milk doesn't cut it; it's much too thick, and when I tried nonfat milk it tasted awful. Anybody? BTW, the link to the recipe everyone's raving about here doesn't work.
