I have such oily skin, it is so hard to deal with! Think I've tried every drugstore brand of foundation and they all feel so sticky and nasty. I read a review for the Kat Von D Tatoo Makeup that just came out. It's supposed to be super lasting and good for us oily girls. Am going to Sephora this weekend to get some samples. Last month I got a powder called Mattify Ultra which is really helping. It isn�t a foundation (just a powder) but I use it under and over my Colortration Foundation. It stops me from having to do so many touch ups. There is one called Mattify Tinted which is like a powder foundation I guess. Haven�t tried it yet but am curious. More makeup places need to come up with makeup that will stick to oily skin and stop the oiliness!!!

I am 55 and have oil "gusher" skin, with a few lines under the eyes. I've fought oil and blemishes since age 13 and it wasn't until I started to treat my skin like sensitive skin that I had any success. First; HANDS off - no picking, popping, or squeezing. I use a blackhead extractor when needed. I use Mary Kay time wise 3-1 bar soap and an Old Vic washcloth (can be found at Vermont Country Store, Amazon, Caswell Massey on line) - squeaky clean and gently exfoliated. A blackhead clearing astringent (Avon Clear Skin) and then a primer: Smashbox Matte: just soaks up the oil. Makeup is Loreal's Mineral powder foundation over Dermablend concealer (I have old acne scars on my cheeks), loose powder, powder blush and I'm good to go for a few hours. I like Mary Kay blotting tissues ($5/75 tissues) and always blot first, apply a touch of Smashbox to my t-zone and powder lightly. I've found that after my morning make-up application at 6:30am I usually need touch ups at 10 - 12 and 2pm. Evenings I again wash after removing eye makeup with Mary Kay eye make up remover, astringent, and then a moisturizer/oil control lotion (Mary Kay or other brands). I also like to dab a bit of eye cream on in the evenings (I like Mary Kay or Anew by Avon). Hands get FREQUENT applications of Mary Kay Timewise hand/body lotion during the day and before bed I do cuticles with almond oil or olive oil, what ever I can pick up - I rub it in real well and apply a nice hand cream.

Also, hair sheds naturally, and we all go through shedding periods, that's normal. I think the allegations and investigations on WEN by the FDA had more to do with the abnormally high number of complaints received. Not saying the allegations were/are true, but I remember when women complained about silicone implants, and they went ignored for far too long before anyone did anything about it. I also remember when a medication initially meant for humans but was reported by physicians to the FDA as having too many serious side affects was then targeted and prescribed for dogs by the drug manufacturer to keep from losing money. FDA received an unusually high amount of complaints for that as well and told Veterinarians in the US they had to include "death" as a side effect - many ignored that policy - still do. It's still used on dogs, many with no issues whatsoever, but for one of my dogs as well as a friend's dog (both different breeds, different sizes)... it was their death sentence. I see no reason to jump on the 'fear' wagon, but why take chances if you don't have to? Too many shampoos out there that'll work.

BB, I'm ordering the Cetaphil now, I've always trusted their products. Thanks! After sweating the first thing I do is get a warm washcloth and wipe my face, rinse out the cloth and wipe it again. I do that first thing in the morning too and throughout the day. It helps me from getting sleepy. A bit ago before I put the salicylic acid on, once more I cleaned my face with a fresh washcloth. When I looked at the pad after putting the acid on, I could see dirt. Apparently my face has been filthy forever. lol I've been taking 4000 IU of D3 a day, for two weeks. Did you have fatigue? I do and I can only chalk it up to being low on D which is a side effect. Of course I've never had D checked before so it could have been this low forever, but I think it's a combo of not being outside all winter because it was frigid, icy and snowy quite a bit, and I also think I've acquired lactose intolerance & I cut out milk way back last year. I was a huge milk lover, both chocolate and white, had some every day and now I have a little bit with cereal a couple of times a week. If my levels don't go up then I'll look into not being able to convert D. Do you know how long it takes for D levels to rise?
