Weissman, have you had this experience with Miele?? If so, could you please elaborate before I make a very expensive mistake? Thank you!

No, I haven't had any personal experience with Miele but there have been posts recently on this forum by people with less that satisfactory experiences with Miele USA and having to contact Germany with their issues - it could be a regional thing - but I suggest you search this forum to find some of those posts.

Cj, I am in the US, Massachusetts to be more precise, and I am also looking to buy a bunch of Miele products - 36" induction, Masterchef oven, Masterchef steaming oven, and Optima dishwasher. This is where I have put a good size of my kitchen reno budget as I like to cook. I have been to the regional center in Wellesley, MA for product dinner/demonstration. I have found the follow up exceptional. In fact, I called today to ask about taking classes after I purchase product and they couldn't have been more welcoming to have me call or come in if I wanted any support. Maybe this is pre sale "best behavior" but my gut doesn't tell me that. I have spoken to the same people several times (I ask A LOT of questions) and they have not been "pressure selling me", just informative. . My kitchen doesn't go in until April but I have ordered my product via AJ Madison and they will hold the price and ship my appliances at the end of March.Hope this helps and keep us posted as to what you decide

Thanks, Kleekai. I didn't get that feeling, either. I went to a showroom (about 100 miles from here) and they were very welcoming and very down-to-earth. I'd love to have an all Miele kitchen, as I also love to cook--but, unfortunately, my budget doesn't allow for that! I'm going to go with the Miele Induction 36 inch, and I haven't really made up my mind about the rest of the appliances yet, though the Electrolux ovens are frontrunners. If I could swing it, the Optima would be a no brainer, but I am most likely going to go with one of the Kitchenaids with a cutlery rack up top. No, it's not a Miele, but I'm sure it will be better than my current Maytag portable!! LOL.

I have never had a "lack of response" nor untimely, discourteous situation with Miele. Sometimes it may have taken more than one visit to get the issue solved, but solved it always gets! If Miele is starting to cut corners in service that will be terrible, but I haven't seen it.

Great service from Miele up here in Canada...to the point of it being just silly. After speaking by email with a rep, they told me to call their service centre if I could not get something to work right and then if necessary they would send someone out to my house...this was just something really small that can be done over the phone easily but I was impressed by their willingness to make sure I am happy...hopefully it continues.
I will say that I also had a good experience with Electrolux Canada last year so no complaints there either.

cj - I have 4 Miele products - 36" induction, Masterchef oven, dishwasher and hood vent. A small piece of black paint chipped off the oven handle (it was a floor model) and they replaced the handle - no questions asked and without delay. I've talked to customer service twice and both times dealt with courteous and helpful employees. So far, I'm impressed with the Miele products and the customer service. I also like that they have several galleries with Masterchef classes or Product Cooking Presentations.

I didn't set out to buy Miele appliances, but the more I learned about Miele the more I felt comfortable about spending the extra money for a quality product backed by a quality company. As far as the oven, I'm not sure what makes it so great for convection baking, but I know what my future oven will be - another Miele. If my new KA oven (2nd oven) has any problems in the next few years, I'll definitely consider replacing that oven with a Miele.

I was disheartened to hear last year about some bad experiences with Miele from other GW members but I have not encountered any. I'm glad this forum is available so those seeking to buy new appliances can hear about the experiences of others, both good and bad, and then decide which product is best for them and their budget.

I should mention that I bought my appliances through a local reputable appliance store. If you have an appliance store nearby, maybe you could check to see if they have any discounted floor models or will soon be marking them down to make room for newer models. The 2-yr. warranty on the floor models I bought started on the day the appliances were delivered and installed.
