Vanilla Coke vs Pepsi Twist

Even though there different kinds of flavor Vanilla Coke taste a lot better than Pepsi Twist becuase The twist just can't beat Vanilla!!!!

I had Vanilla Coke and I nearly barfed...... I guess it suits some people.. I like Coke over Pepsi, but to me, Coke and Pepsi Twist are a tie..

I haven't tried the vanilla coke yet, but I imagine there isn't enough vanilla flavoring in it. Pepsi Twist is ok, but you can hardly taste the lemon. I add lemon concentrate to my colas and they taste way better than Pepsi Twist...cheaper too if I use generic cola.

wow intolerant to beet sugar, and by the sounds of it, rather drastically intolerant. (is it anything like gluten intolerance? If so perhaps there are support groups our there that can help you figure out what is safe and what is not, as well as working to get companies to share the information on labels.) I'm intolerant of High Fructose Corn Syrup but it is only a mild intolerance. I don't think I'm likely to go to the hospital from consuming it, worst case is being doubled over with a horrible belly ach for a half an hour if I stupidly drink a can of soda on an empty stomach (or a big glass of Cool Aid or any other beverage high in that particular sweetener. As for the whole debate about cane v beet, I don't bake/cook/whatever enough to have much of an opinion about it. However, I did once try growing sweet sorghum. Didn't grow enough to try milling it or making it into syrup though and don't have the equipment to do so either. I understand processing sorghum (and probably cane too) is a pretty heavy task that can last several days even on a small scale.

Have you done a taste-test on "regular" vs gluten-free pasta? lots of variations to sample there with corn, rice, quinoa, etc! What about comparing different rices? (jasmine vs basmati, white vs brown, etc) Definitely should make a batch of root beer using cane sugar and then compare to store-bought soda that uses corn syrup! :p EDIT: How about a bake-test or candy-making comparison of cane sugar vs beet sugar and then let us all know the results. :) Could also compare butter vs margarine... arley, you are just a veritable fountain of information! Actually a local restaurant chain makes a very tasty (at least to me) Washington Red Appletini (their name for it). When asked the ingredients, they said Crown Royal, sour apple schnapps and pomegrante juice. I'm not very knowledgeable about mixed drinks but a friend insisted I try it. I could become a lush! So I guess I could purchase a bottle or 2. CR is my SIL's drink of choice but I have a feeling he gets the larger size. I'll check out Hobby Lobby. Neither Homegoods nor TJM had anything today. Just commenting on the part about using Poland Spring water. It's not spring water at all. The trucks pull up to Moose Pond in Maine which is a large body of water and I watch them, from my sun porch, take thousands of gallons of water out at least three times a week. Mind you, the water is suctioned out right next to the boat ramp which is disgusting with oil. Four towns are fighting to have it ceased but, because of the tax revenue on Poland Springs, they have hit one barrier after another. I make it a point to tell people the truth about Poland Springs and many many other bottled waters. They then transmit it to a cleansing factory which is based on the cleansing process that cleans ocean water. Yes it began with springs which are rampant in Maine and that water is potable as I've stopped and had it on occasion but it's natural. So essentially you are drinking water that has been cleansed with chemicals, just so you know.

Sunny .. the vanilla coke has a lot of vanilla flavor to it. Much more than the cream sodas I usually drink.

I like the vanilla coke - tried it a few days ago. Pepsi Twist OTOH is awful. Smells like Lemon Scented Lysol. Totally fake!

Fake and smell was what I thought about vanilla coke. But lots of processed food flavors are done that way- just a strong smell that convinces you that you are tasting the flavor. Think back to having a head cold. Your nose is more perceptive than your taste buds.

Vanilla coke in can was better tasting to me than the 20 oz bottle. JMO

Vanilla coke reminds me of the coke floats we made as kids. Really tastes like it has melted vanilla ice cream in it.
