The striped melon on the left has the general appearance of Cream of Saskatchewan. The one on the right is a cannonball type which could be any cultivar in that group and there are a lot of them. Obviosly you have two different melons. The tendril where the stem attaches to the vine dries when ripe. That is the best indicator. The frosty appearance also clears up. The dark green melons show an obvious yellowing on the underside. Light melons like CAS also change a bit underside, but it is not so obvious. Thumping is the other way, but it takes a good ear and experience.

I am looking for some specific varieties of autumn sage; "Wild Watermelon" and "Hot Lips". Does anyone know of any places around West Chester or Malvern, PA where I can find it? I know I can get them via mail order, but I would prefer to support the local folks when possible. Thanks, Lois in PA

Sharon, I think those are variables. I started playing with this this afternoon (hic), and right now I am at this point. (Makes 2 drinks) 1/3 c Cruzan dark rum 1/3 c Creme de Banana Liqueur 1/2 ripe banana 1/3 c sweet & sour So far this is really good, I have tried different amounts of ingredients, and I tried lime juice, but it was overpowering. I think I will sub pineapple juice for the sweet & sour next batch and see how that tastes. I think I might have a winner pretty soon!
