Need help decorating my small powder room
Comments (20)More info on the tile....in the questions for that photo, they say the tile is Puka Iridescent. I had a feeling that Puka was Sonoma Tilemakers but I couldn't check last night. So I have found it in their Vihara line of glass tiles. I actually like their Silk colors better than their Iridescent colors as an iridescent has other colors that probably won't work with your cream and brown granite. I had samples of Oceanside glass tiles in the polished, matte, and iridescent tiles, and just a touch of the iridescent wouldn't be bad in a custom mix. They have many colors, shapes, and sizes like Vihara. Your problem will be that you only need one or two sheets of tile for your backsplash and many places have minimum orders. https://sonomatilemakers.com/vihara/...See MoreOddly placed electrical box in small powder room
Comments (19)ok, let me reiterate,,,,if you move that box, with all it's wires and junctions, 2 feet to the left, then what is left behind is nothing. you don't have put a cover over it or disclose it (!) And for the record, you cannot close up a live junction behind any wall or ceiling. That's not what I suggested. I said, if there were enough play in the wires, you could transplant that box to the new hole. that's best and cheapest scenario. However, if that couldn't be done,(if the wires were too short to move) then a new box would have to be installed, the old box wires would have to be connected to the new box, and that's where you'd get your cover plate. If this ceiling is beneath an attic, it makes moving this so much easier. You would junction the new box w/the old box wires and put the box in the attic. But, if this ceiling is beneath another floor, where you are working between joists, then unless you can trace the original electrical source to this old box, disconnect it and run a new line, then yes, you will be stuck w/the cover....See MorePowder Room Sink: How small is too small?
Comments (34)I found this awesomeness when I searched on Houzz just now, but I'm not sure I can afford it: [https://www.houzz.com/photos/classicism-refreshed-contemporary-powder-room-new-orleans-phvw-vp~11860230[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/classicism-refreshed-contemporary-powder-room-new-orleans-phvw-vp~11860230) Do you have any pictures you could share with me of splashbacks that would keep the room from feeling too modern? I like vintage, but not too ginger-bready if that makes sense. :)...See MoreNeed help picking a small powder room paint color
Comments (49)Hi all! Thanks for all of your suggestions. The laundry chute is non functional as the previous owners inadvertently blocked part of the opening in the basement when they had it finished. I'm thinking about skipping the shelves and putting a towel bar and then some artwork hanging on the wall above it. @boxerpal The color is SW Grape Mist. I really like how it turned out!...See Morehmsweethm
