Very very nice. I love your selections - they just flow very nicely. Yea you will have to try out some paint samples. It's not just lighting, flat surfaces can really throw color.

I have started on my master bath and am just changing out surfaces like you did - started demoing and the cultured marble shower pan went out on the curb last Friday. Your reveal inspiration came just in time because my back and neck are still hurting! I like your oval tub. I thought I was the only one who still likes them. I had tried to talk myself into a rectangle tub which is very popular, but I still go back to the ovals. What brand is your tub and how do you like it? Is a Jacuzzi Nova 5? Your drain is cute and it makes the mundane shower floor fun. And then question 2, on your vanity, is that one or two drawers next to the linen tower?

Love your finishes too! Nice to see a girl after my own heart...love how you situated your sinks to one side of the vanity...am planning to do that in our next bath reno (did that in our previous home, and very seldom see it in pics). We are literally tiling our niche today, would love to see close-up pics of how you finished off the ends of the tiles in yours.

Would it be possible to add ceiling light in your shower area? Poor lighting may be one thing you always regret.

Anna, sure hope oval tubs aren't "out". Am planning to get the Bain Ultra Oval Plus for my next reno. Though I can appreciate the esthetic of a rectangle, just can't figure out how they'd be comfortable. As my tub is going to be for me and the long soaks I envision, comfort and function is my #1 priority!

Anna, I painted at least 3 samples on the walls all over the place since there are various light differences. And I waited until there was some tile going on to try to get the effect right. Then the paint guy didn't use the paint I had specified. That was part of the problem, and I just didn't have the patience or the time before Christmas to deal with it. I wanted the Bath and Spa paint, which has a little more sheen to it than the flatter, matte finish I think. The samples are actually the BM matte finish. There are 2 drawers to the side of the linen tower. Formerly I had a big open spot there, like a dressing table, which I never used, so we closed it up. I had my cab guy put in a pull out, we relocated the outlet behind the pullout, and I keep my hair dryer in the pullout - out of sight. Wonderful! Plus more storage.

Raehelen, we hate 2 waterproof canned lights in the shower plus 2 big lights in the area outside the shower so we have plenty of lights back there. There is also a light built into the vent. We put in a new one that is something like 140 cfm and .5 sones I think. Pretty quiet too. I know what you mean about the oval tubs. It is an Artisan brand. Not terribly expensive. We had a Jacuzzi brand before and never had a problem with it. This one seems very substantial and came from a plumbing/bath supply house, not a big box store. I'll make some additional photos today and try to post. 'The Tile Lady' as I call her at the tile store recommended staying very simple with all the tile edges, etc. I'm glad I did.

Raehelen, here is a photo of one of the niches. The tile-setter used the matching beveled edge trim tile, just like he used on the edges of the tile where it meets the sheetrock.

And I made a mistake on the brand of tub. It is Maax. Artisan was the brand of the sinks. The rest of the suppliers are:

It looks like you have a wall mounted make-up mirror too? Do you like the brand?

I noticed the same beveled tile edges on your tub deck. Very nice tile work. Very nice cabinet work. And your material choices are very soothing and flowing to my eye.

Your vanity really caught my eye. It is nicely designed.

And I like your tub. You get both rectangle and oval shapes.

Paint color is deceptive. I have lived with my master bedroom paint for 3 years waiting to make up my mind and repaint with this bathroom remodel. Amount of sunlight, time of day, time of year, type of bulbs, placement of lights, etc can really change the paint color too. I have a wood floor in my master bedroom that throws a lot of yellow up on the walls which I did not take into account. Plus I went with the fad of the year and painted the ceiling the same as the walls and ended up hating it as I laid in bed every night! And I learned that the main color in the base or added colorant always overrides the surface colors in the mix. Good luck with your paint. I have a friend that repainted her mistake red bathroom with one coat of BM Aura green.

Jewel, yes, I have had that mirror for several years. My aging eyes love it for putting on make up! The brand is Conair and I think it came from Bed Bath and Beyond.

Ana, I will likely live with the paint a while. It's mostly fine and I can deal with it for now. Maybe when I get the art on the walls it will be better. In some light it is perfect and at other times I wish it to be a shade darker. Thanks for all the compliments.

Thanks for the photos! We bought a fairly expensive (for us) tile saw so that DH can bevel the edges ourselves...let's hope it works... Originally we were going to use Schluter edges, though I changed my mind when I realized shower door trim was chrome, everything else is brushed nickel, and I was in a quandary as to which metal to choose to trim shower tiles. Just bevelling seemed like a simpler and more elegant solution!

Re lighting, when you said lighting was terrible, I assumed you meant dim, ie not enough. Could changing type of bulb make a difference?

Also looking at your tub, now I may have to rethink tub surround. I like the look of the tiles, DH was thinking cultured granite, as it is quite reasonable cost wise, ie you only pay for the square footage, not for a whole slab like you'd have to with 'real' granite. But, then I don't like introducing too many varying surfaces, so just couldn't wrap my head around tying it in to vanity countertop... anyhow, you've given me more food for thought...as BR #2 is coming to a close, have to finalize plans for BR #3!

I know what you mean about too many elements, RH. My tile lady really helped also with sketching out HOW to lay the tiles also so it wouldn't look too busy. Thus we laid the tiles straight on the floor (no stagger) but staggered the ones on the side of the tub. I don't know if you can see that in the photos I took. That might also be something to consider if you use tile. And I probably wasn't too clear on the lighting conditions! That shower area was hard to photograph. I kept trying to use different light combinations, flash/no flash, etc to get it to look right. I finally gave up.

Very good design! Installing just one sink on each vanity instead of two was a brilliant idea! Everything else also looks nice and stylish.

The pictures look beautiful and decorated handed light is cool looking. I was wondering I could buy one of those for my house as well. I have to replace the one I have it now with new one. I want to make some changes inside living room and bathroom. I will contact professional interior designers for best utilization of the space in my home.
