Hi Lydia, Please don't try and fix your hair before contacting the hotline for the product you used. They may be able to help you through your dilema. It is very normal to get the results you have on your level(color) of hair. If you put the same color on it it MAY pull a little bit more of the orange out, or it may make it worse. I have seen very few home blondes that look natural. Unless you look good in very warm tones I would avoid it, or color and get weaves over the color for dimension. In my opinion it is best to leave blondes to the pros unless you are naturally very blonde to begin with. If you are trying to cover gray, and using a permanant haircolor try to stay within a shade or two of your natural haircolor, rather than trying to be a light blonde. Your results will look more natural that way. The problem most people have when they color their own hair, blonde in particular; is that the natural hair pigment of your level is a red or red/orange, and that is why you get an orange or brassy look. As the permanant color lifts it exposes those underlying pigments. Another option if it isn't too orange: Have some foil highlights added, a bleach will cut through the orange. If the other color isn't going to look good with your current color a semi color can be added inbetween the foils to tone the orange down. A hairdresser would have to use foil or comparable weave technique to do the latter, not use a cap. Hope that helps, I'll check back and see how it's going.

I would stay away from trying to achieve this yourself. It matters what color your hair is as well as the texture, tenacity, and porosity. Toners are sometimes used (separate process) to correct the finished color. Brassy hair can be corrected by applying a blue, violet, etc. toner. Hair color has levels that range from dark to light and youâÂÂre removing levels of melanin (the pigments in your hair) as you go. All professional coloring systems have their own set of âÂÂrulesâ for formulating their color line to get the desired results you need. All come with swatches and thereâÂÂs a process of figuring out what needs to be done. Ordering professional products online (tubes of color and developer) without having the rest of the information is about as much of a guess as buying box color, IMO. Also, depending on if bleach is used, if the person is slow or doing a lot of foils, etc. (I know you didnâÂÂt mention foils) the product should actually be mixed in different batches (with different formulations) for sections so that the bleach processes evenly and is finished at the same time. That is a beautiful huge window in your great room-- no wonder you have a ton of light. I'm not sure if I know what bagging is (although I suspect that it is the technique of painting over the base layer with another different color, and then taking off some of the top color with a scrunched up paper bag). That being said, I usually think that faux finishes or paint techniques like that go best with certain kind of house styles. Does your house work with that type of paint technique? I also tend to worry that most paint techniques end up looking more dated than a flat wall color over time. Still, if you love that look now, you can always have it painted over later. Have you thought about just painting over the wall with a color you like better? That would probably be your cheaper and easier bet. You could also add some beadboard or wainscoting to half the wall (with white down below( which lightens up the color quite a bit. Good luck with your decision.

I think that you need a very talented hair colorist to pull off some of those looks. Others look gray/white and wouldn't be different in look from what you have. The main difference is the haircuts. They look high fashion. Why not try a single process in a light brown/blond color family? I think you should let your hair grow so that you can have more options for a cut. Gray can look really nice, but here is the how my colorist puts it, "Women with gray hair can look nice, but they look older." So, I understand your need for this change.
