Attacking the messenger rather than addressing the message is what's predictable. Asking again: does it make sense to try to eliminate radiation and its effects in the body with a food like miso or seaweed (doubtful as that prospect is), when the whole point of radiotherapy for breast cancer is to eradicate the cancer? If you could in fact lessen or eliminate radiation's effects, wouldn't that lessen its effects on the tumor? One hopes anyone thinking of trying this would consult with their physician(s) first, rather than undergoing radiation therapy while trying to stymie it at the same time. And since the recommendation to eat these foods was aimed at relieving skin effects of radiation, it would nice to see any links to clinical studies showing that they prevent or lessen skin damage. Except that we're very unlikely to be provided with any (we're just supposed to trust the word of anonymous "health professionals"). Most people have learned not to buy "Trust me, I'm a doctor/health professional/herbalist/alt med practitioner". They want verifiable facts. I'm 41 too. My skin is misbehaving as well. I saw some great reviews about this book, The Skin Type Solution, on a makeup board I frequent so I had to get it. It is well worth the purchase price! Based on a questionaire that you fill out, I found out I have Oily, Sensitive, Non-Pigmented, Tight skin. I am following her recommendations for my skin and so far, so good. I found out that my skin type does not take to facials or exfoliation well, too inflamatory. A washcloth is all I should use to exfoliate and anything with scrubbing particles should be avoided. I found a line of skin care (Eucerin Redness Relief) at Walgreens that is doing good things for my early rosacea symptoms. You can easily set up a regimen just for your skin spending as little or as much money as you wish with her product suggestions. And you can avoid spending money on stuff that can harm your skin. I tried Retinal... I think, and Vanicream moisturizer. Mostly I forget the retinal. Am I spelling that right? Too lazy to get up and look. I like the moisture cream a lot and it was really cheap. I bought it for my arms with the crepe paper skin. That's better. I don't know about the retinal. In the meantime I bought a bunch of Neutrogena stuff and I like that. The eye cream might be working for those black bags under my eyes. Those are once a day which is good because I'm doing really well if I remember to do it every day. And the wrinkle stuff has the sun screen in it which was also another thing I didn't think about until I was outside. But every 80 minutes is a PITA. I wonder how the neutrogena wrinkle stuff with SPF 30 works all day? Doesn't seem like it would. So that's where I'm at. The driver's license picture is 20 days away. It has to look better than the last one.

I have had the bruising problem all my life and it seems to be worse when I eat a diet with lots of green veggies. Doctors have found no health problem but I think it is because they think I have hit something and not remembered it. Only time they believed was the one time the doctor helped me down from the table and left fingerprints in my arm. Since cerebral hemorrhages seem to be the way most in my father's family die I believe it must be partially genetic. For bleeding when my husband was on coumadin I carried a product called Bleedstop but there are similar products. It is a dark powder that you sprinkle on the cut and it will help the blood clot quicker. Recently I have only been able to find a pack of three large packages rather than the small plastic box with 3-5 small packages in it. Until your wound heals it can appear as a dark stain on your skin but for me it stops the blood with no need for additional bandaids although if it is in a place like my arm or back of the hand that would rub on the bedding I do place a bandaid over it when going to bed. I have started using it for the normal gardening tears than you get every season.
