need help identifying a doll

can anyone out there help me. my mother had this doll when she was very little. now she is 49. it was a doll she had that her parents took away from her because she would walk around with it everywhere( even in public guess this embarrassed my grandparents. so my mother tells me) for a great gift i was trying to find out what it is maybe get some more information on it, possibly even buy her one if i get so lucky as to find one. please can anyone point me in the right direction

but a stranger to me...

Look for company names and/or model numbers on the nape of the neck or on the doll's back, either near the nape of the neck or in the middle of the back.

Your mother is now 49......which would make me old enough to be your grandmother....and able to remember a doll like that with adult memories.
It looks like a store mannequin, the sort of thing that might be used to display children's clothes.
The face plainly has been influenced by Grace Gebbie Drayton.....which would have been much longer ago than the 1960's.
Ask your mother more about that doll....

I only looked at this because I thought it might be the China Doll rose! What a shame you got no replies back in November when you posted your query - now I too am wondering how you're going and whether your special plant has survived. Although I don't know anything about this particular plant, I would still immediately remove that plastic you have covering the soil. If you were pulling stems straight out of the ground, my guess would be the roots have been rotting, due to the warm, humid, airless conditions created by the plastic. A quick google tells me this plant is indeed liable to root rot. Other than that, I'd read up on this plant and it's particular requirements - it does sound quite fussy though so please don't be too distressed if it doesn't make it. If it doesn't survive, why not go to a proper garden centre or nursery and ask them to recommend a good beginner's plant - indoor or outdoor if you have a garden, and ask them, and google, for instructions for its care? It might be the start of a wonderful new hobby, and what could be a nicer tribute to your dear Dad - being a gardener himself, I'm sure he would be so pleased, but I'm also sure he would hate for you to stress out over it. I’ve never come across one like this, the figurines I see a lot of are usually replicants of historical figures from the Chinese 3 kingdoms wei shu and wu. My Asian ‘theme’ stuff is all hand painted cups/tea set/ginger jars and the like. I also was happy to get the tea pot my parents bought when they were in the Philippinesand Hong Kong for a summer after they got married, for the sentimental value. There are lots of geisha statues from what I can see in the quick internet search for the terms ‘geisha statue, geisha figurine’. I know there’s at least one or two people on GW who might be able to translate the kanji/symbols at the base but can’t recall their names at this moment! Hopefully they will spot this and help you out!

Need help to identify the model based on pictures + technical help

Hi all, I need to identify my HVAC model based on pictures. Label is all wear out and unreadable. Brand is Carrier Addition help regarding to troubleshooting the issue will also be great. We recently replaced thermostat (Nest), original wasn't even working (Honeywell mercury). Heat mode is intermitting, sometimes it works sometimes it's NOT especially if set to temperature after time meaning by to keep the temperature after reaching. I hear ignition clicking but it doesn't seem like it ignites since fan never turns ON due to temperature never reaching or this is my assumption, Please let me know if more information is required, all help is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

The face is familiar to me, too, but I'm thinking something in advertising as opposed to a doll.

Grace Gebbie Drayton did all sorts of child figures...including the Campbell Kids, paper dolls etc etc....
That's why the face looks familiar.

Have you sent that picture to various doll collector sites?
I have a strong feeling that doll was not new to your mother....and someone dealing in all sorts of antique dolls may be able to help.

the doll actually had a hamper inside of it. if you unzipped the back of the doll there was a hamper. she dont remember much like i said in the post she no longer owns it her parents took it from her when she was little. i appreciate all the post and would of gotten back to yous earlier but with me going to school didnt have time to check it thank you all very much.
