Where tomato spot wilt virus (TSWV) is a problem, the grower pretty much has to rely on resistant varieties coupled with an integrated pest management program including maybe reflective silver mulch, spraying insecticides, and preventing/removing other TSWV-hosting weeds and cultivars from which thrips can vector the disease. Here are some other hybrid tomatoes that show TSWV resistance: "Amelia" (Harris Morana) medium early, medium to large fruit with good color. Growers say Amelia tastes better than BHN 444. An aggressive determinate that actually requires some pruning to produce higher quality market fruit. "BHN 640" medium early, medium to large fruit that growers say has smoother fruit with better color than BHN 444. "Bella Rosa" I had a seedsman tell me this one is the tomato to grow if you can't get Amelia. "Mountain Glory" new product from Rogers/Syngenta and apparently is the TSWV-resistant version of Mountain Spring producing large and jumbo size fruit with good color, smooth shape with nearly no blossom end scar. "Sophya" (got some from Totally Tomatoes) and "Bolseno" (Johnny's Selected Seed sells it) are Italian indeterminate hybrids with TSWV-resistance. "Crista" (Harris Moran) is another one that shows resistance or intermediate resistance to TSWV. And here is an interesting one ... Top Gun Look at that article where it says, "Top Gun can be grown in a container or in the ground and has similar qualities as a Patio Tomato, but produces a larger fruit and has additional positive attributes ..."

I agree with GrillMeister. I bought my first Genesis 3000 when Weber first started making them in the 80s. I had a traditional Charbroil, and the aluminum castings corroded to where the whole thing turned white. Also, the "H" shaped pressed-steel burner corroded to where I had very little heat control. And the chrome wire grills lasted maybe a year. The engineer in me really liked the Genesis design with the pipes for burners, the flavorizer bars and the porcelain coated parts. I did the math, and if the Genesis only lasted up to its warranty, it was cheaper to own the Genesis than to buy Charbroils like the one I had. That Genesis lasted over 10 years. I'm now on my second Genesis; a 1000, which is about 8 years old or so. (I found I didn't use the external burner) I've replaced the bars and grates with stainless parts. And this past weekend, I replaced the rails that the bottom tray slides on. Weber sent those to me at no charge. If I were buying a new grill now, it would be a Silver C. I wouldn't spring for the Gold, cause the SS lid is not that big of a deal to me. I can replace the bars and grates in stainless if I need to down the line. I wouldn't spring for the Summit series, 'cause it's a lot more money for something that is not much more functional. It does look cool, though... The Silver Weber is a great cooking machine.

Wow! That is totally unacceptable rusting!! I just re-read the warranty (I have read so many over the last several days that I can no longer keep them all straight), and am surprised that it is so short compared to other units. One year. Period. That's all, folks! You did not happen to purchase it with an American Express card, did you? I ask, because not everyone knows that AE doubles the manufacturer's warranty for free, in which case, you would still be under warranty. Well, if I keep this unit, I will definitely keep a sharp eye on this as it gets closer to the 1 year period, and if I still have this unit, the 2 year period when the AE warranty extension runs out. Mine is the W3 vs your W1. Perhaps they corrected your issues. I am only on my second load so far. The first was a king sized comforter that it did a great job on. This load is the linens that I used to have to split into two loads with my old unit. It just finished, and everything is far less twisted than with my old agitator unit. So far, no unbalance situation, and so far, so good. Would you mind telling me how you defeated the lid lock? I tried putting my magnets on top of the switch, but it did not work. The latch came out and did not stay out. When I held the latch with the magnets still on top, this did not work either. Kristi, below is a link to the 6200's manual. Look at the picture on page 12 and you will see a Load Size selection option offering Small, Medium, Large, Super and Auto, so that is to me how you select the water level. You might want to read through the manual and make sure you are happy with the other features it has or perhaps does not have. Best of luck to you!
