Master bath 99.9% finished - photo's

Here are photo's of my master bath almost finished. Only thing to be done is the glass block on the shower. That will come later. Please excuse the electrical cord, that's the only means of electricity we have right now while building.

Vanities and mirrors from HD

Floor tile from local flooring - Perque's 20x20

Tub and wall tile from Lowe's - discontinued

Toilet - Kohler, from Lowe's

Paint - BM Gray Cashmere

Lighting - Thomasville Collection - can be bought at many on-line lighting stores. Mine was purchased through Build.com

Whirlpool - HD

Wainscoting is PVC from HD

Faucets - HD

I would like to know how the chair was attached to the tub surround? We will be doing similar shortly, I know weedyacres did the same...

I used the shower for the first time last night, and am SO pleased! The shower door was dear but worth it -- no leakage, and it felt so spacious while in there. The Whisperwarm fan is wonderful -- stepping out of the shower into a cone of warm air was just luscious. In retrospect, the corner shelves could've been bigger, or I should've added another -- I like to keep lots of shampoo bottles around and now I'll have to choose ;). Towel warmer and heated floor worked wonderfully too -- can you tell I'm a heat-whore? As I've gotten older, I've become more and more addicted to warmth. Squeegeeing the shower took less than a minute, and it looks great! Only design decision still pending is whether to do a curtain over the window. Thoughts?

Thought I'd follow up. I really wanted the floral faded wallpaper-y tile, but it's just wrong for this dumb lil' phone boothy shower. My second choice I found on Houzz. I thought it was ceramic, but it is a glass tile with an "orange peel" surface so it is not shiny like most glass tile, but it is translucent. I liked glass but did not want shiny. You can also request a range of hues, which I like as it is also less modern. It is by Island Stone, and the price I got was $27 a square foot; versus well over $100 sq ft for the hand painted floral tiles. Thanks so much

Pepperidge, let's see if I can explain it. It's real simple. You just tile the top of the surround, then attach the chair with mastik to the piece of wood that the frame of the whirlpool. If this makes no sense, I'll have my DH explain it in more detail for you. Let me know if you understand.

So lovely and relaxing-looking. I loved those vanities when I was shopping for one of our baths, though the dimensions were wrong. Glad to see someone else enjoying them!

thanks, I was wondering if it was adhered with any particular or special adhesive (other than simply using the mastic)-- my only concern is that they will get bumped and knocked off, esp at the corner (of mine).

I am wondering if I may use something other than thinset...

Did the vanity tops come with the vanities? They are really nice vanities. Do you know the brand? Were they special order?

My DH used a masonary mastic that contains cement and that's what makes it so strong. There are vinyl mastics that can used in different applications, but he used this particular one in the bath because of the moisture and wanting the tiles to stay in place. He said you'd need a hammer to break it off, that's who strong it is.

kelleg, the bases were sold seperately and we bought the tops right there at HD. They had them in stock so there was no need for special order. That's the top they had on the display and we liked it the best, but you could put any top you choose. Sorry I don't know the brand, but I do know when we first purchased them I went on-line trying to find them and couldn't. The vanities are one of those items that are sold by HD exclusively.

Wow! that is a beautiful, relaxing bathroom.. My favorite is the shower and I hope you complete it with frameless glass instead of glass block. I say that because it is so pretty and the glass will show it off nicely.

pharaoh, thanks for the compliments. The budget is dictating the glass block, but I'm now realizing the glass block will be easier to keep clean. I'm not as young and spry as I once was. LOL The older I get the more I hate housework too!!

Thank you, no that's just a 1" mosaic from Lowe's. All the wall tile is from Lowe's and the floor tile is from a local tile flooring place.
