Laurie, I mostly get the lemon or rose scented geraniums as they are two of my favorite fragrances. For me in zone 7/8 they are treated as annuals. I have yet to be able to winter one over in my garden no matter how much I protect them. I sometimes do pot them up and bring them inside for the winter. I hope to do that with the ones in my garden now. I will have to trim the root ball and entire plant because they have gotten huge. My favorites are; Attar of Rose, Lemon Crispum, Rober's Lemon Rose and Nutmeg. The flowers are usually small but pretty. The main reason most people grow them is for the fragrant leaves. You can put them into tea and other drinks, I like to add them to sugar to make a flavored sugar to roll cookies in before baking and sometime put the cleaned leaves into the bottom of the cake pan before pouring in the batter. That link took me to a page that has several items on it. I'm assuming you're talking about the Front Avenue stainless grill. I have no idea if that is a Virco grill. I just got the $799 Kirkland Signature grill at Costco a couple of weeks ago, and even though it is branded as a Kirkland Signature, it is a Virco grill. I am very satisfied with mine so far. We grilled some Copper River salmon tonight that turned out excellent from what I was told. I had a burger that was equally as good.

So far I've just grilled single boneless rib eye steaks, and roasted a chicken on the rotisserie. The chicken came out great, as did the steaks. I haven't really noticed uneven heating on the steak, but it's a thick one it's about the same size has the flame tamer hole, which I place it right above. I have noticed some warping of the stainless grill's three central rods. I don't know if this is related to the welded notch in that grill or the heat. I may switch around to another grill without the notch to see if it happens to that one as well. Once the grill heats up the flame tamers take on a red glow, so I'm thinking that the heat will even out if it's uneven at first. I *suppose* that if one really wanted to, one could find a porcelain grate to replace the flame tamers, and put readily available ceramic briquettes on that, leaving enough space for air circulation of course. The Virco manual however says don't add briquettes to the grill, or it will block the air and maybe damage the grill... so I don't know. I think I need to throw a party and grill up a bunch of burgers to check on the eveness of the heat distribution.

I noticed that Costco is selling a slightly different version of the Virco this year. The main changes are it now has two storage drawers that roll on ball bearings, two doors (the one on the left stores the tank and has a paper towel hanger on the door, and the door on the left is for storage. It also has a little tray you can pull out for wood chips for adding some smoke. My 8 year old Weber Genisys ran out of gas last week and Home Depot does not carry the filled tanks with the QDC (Quick Disconnect) fittings any more. That did not help the chops that were sitting on a cold grate. I told my wife it was an omen and she agreed to let me buy the new Virco at Costco. An hour later, we were at Costco, but they were sold out. Such is life. In the mean time, I've changed the fitting on my trusty old Weber and I'm back grilling several times a week till Costco gets the new Virco back in stock. Has anyone seen or purchased the new style Virco? The info here has very handy.
