The lady that butchered my last batch of chickens uses one, She has a thermometer with a wire in the water to moniter temperature, if it gets too hot she adds cold water from the hose (kept handy) to cool it down. seems to work well. I don't know what brand it is just looks like a run of the mill outdoor burner with a large stock pot.

Wish I knew the answer, but we have one which attaches directly to the burner. Only replied to tell you how fantastic it is to have one. Deep fried turkey is the bomb! Is it possible to bring the hose and the burner to a plumbing supplier to see if they can figure it out? Hope you can work things out.

Absolutely has nothing to do with frying. It's just a roaster. It roasts some things well, but not everything. It is not very efficient in fuel use, and it does not cook food faster. I am not sure how you can use it to roast many vegetables. Since it cooks by infrared, anything in IR shadow will tend to be uncooked. It probably can roast a small chicken well. dcarch

I have had a Big Easy for 5 years and it tastes almost the same as deep fried. Some people like it better. It does actually fry in it's own fat, the infrared is what makes the difference over baking and roasting. That is why they can call it fried. You have the crispy skin and moist meat like deep fried. Without $40 worth of peanut oil that may go rancid before you use it again. A suggestion if you decide to get one. Cover the breast and wings with foil for the first hour, leaving the back and lower parts exposed. Then remove the foil, the white meat cooks faster than the dark meat.
