Actually, I think the floor plan is pretty good now.

I really like having the toilet in a separate compartment, so two people can use the bathroom at the same time. I would close off the toilet and linen closet area with a door (could even be a pocket door). I would change the linen closet to double doors so you need less swing space to open. The labelled dimension on your shower is plenty big. I have 42" by 48" in my shower, and I don't feel the need for more. How big is the unlabeled dimension? Which way will the shower head point?

Thank you astridh. That is a great idea about closing off the toilet area. I think we've decided to go 60x36 for the shower. I think the shower head will be on the left and a hand held will go in as well. It always seems to be easy to move things around, but then you realize it won't work at all. Thank you for your help.

I agree with closing off the toilet area. We have a water closet and it does allow two people to use the restroom at once with complete privacy. We are starting to plan to remodel and that is something that I really want to keep.

I'd move the toilet where the linen is, make a 3'x5' room for it, with the door opening "north" (if it's now opening "east"). Then you've still got 3' of linen space at the end of it, just put the linen doors opening "north" as well.

A 4 x 6 shower is pretty big, which IMO is a priority. With this plan as is, I hope you really like to take baths! That is a lot of room for a big tub! Given the option of having a linen closet with it's very own private door or a toilet with it's very own private door ... there would be only one choice for me. Most of your storage, (other than linen closet), is presumably in your sink vanity, which may be more than enough. But again, what if you were to shove the tub into either corner, (end up with a smaller but perfectly acceptable corner tub), move the shower over a little and then wrap the sink vanity around the other corner? You would end up with more counter space and more storage space. But I'm from the "I don't use tubs but I understand that you need to have one" school of thought. :)

I like the floor plan but, if you wanted to do a smaller bathtub to get a larger shower, that would be nice as well. We're in the process of remodeling our master bath and the new floor plan is very similar to yours. The separate water closet is a must for me. We're doing a 60" tub because we are shower people and wanted the larger shower.
