Do you want a cooktop, a rangetop or a range? They are three very distinct creatures. Correct terminology is important. A cooktop sits on your counter and has the controls on the surface, in the place of where another burner would be. It drops in to your counter. It does not have an oven. A range includes both a stove (burners, grill, griddle, whatever) and an oven below. A rangetop is a range without the oven below. It is like a cooktop except that it is built into the front of the counter and the controls are in front. It is literally the range with the oven absent. Ranges and rangetops are available with grills from all the manufacturers that you name and more, including Capital. I am not sure about whether cooktops have grills since I never considered getting a cooktop. I have a 36" Blue Star range with a grill. I am really happy with it. Using the right terms should make your google search easier.

I think the 6/1 would look fine on both the front and the back of the house. On the fixed arch top on the front you could take a custom grill pattern and put at the height of the check rail a simulated check rail to keep the look of the 6/1 on the rest of the windows in the house

Rengmarg, Welcome to the home forum! Your house is precious and those front windows are screaming for some snazzy grilles to add character and charm!! Luckily, according to the Marvin website, you have plenty of options. Your home would look gorgeous with the "Cottage T", "Checkrail", or "Checkrail T" grille pattern on the front windows. In addition, if you really want increase your wow factor, consider adding casings and subsills to those front windows. The "Potter" or "Brick Mould" casing with the A217 subsill would compliment your home beautifully. IMHO, I don't think it would look "weird" to have grilles in the front windows of the LR and not on the others, but weird is usually in the eye of the beholder, so go with what makes you feel best. After all, you're going to be the one sitting in your living room. It needs to work for YOU. As for the porch view that you would like to keep uninterrupted, you could opt for no grilles, OR you could choose a pattern that offers a little interest, with maximum "viewing" potential. Perhaps the "Cottage A" pattern? You didn't mention cost being a deciding factor, so I didn't take it into consideration when making suggestions. I hope this helps! Well, you all have me convinced! I'm ordering one today or tomorrow, along with a grill temperature probe, which I needed anyway. I watched a few YouTube's last night on the Instant Pot and was pretty surprised at what it can do. I'm going to get the Ultra, as it seems to have a few more features for now and later - it does have a 'faux' sous vide setting, which I'm sure is inaccurate, but will suffice for now should I attempt it. I'll get the Anova after reno if I still want it. Hard boiled and poached eggs, fast and easy rice, pasta, proteins, steamed veggies, stock and bone broth, and I can make soups! Soups!!!! So glad this was brought up and I was encouraged to get one. I'll most likely order a pressure cooker cookbook as well. Annie, I will look for Instant Pot recipes too! Snowed yesterday, rain and cold temps for the next week, so clearly grilling is not something I can do always. However, I think I'll start small - I've got chili in the fridge, so next non-rainy day, cornbread in the grill : ) I think, with the grill, the electric skillet (which is quite large), the Instant Pot, microwave, and my sad toaster oven, I should be set. I've so few cooking utensils now, and very little space, it's all I can really use! The induction burner looked great, but I'd have to find and unpack my pans and order skillets - but I'm quickly running out of storage containers and I'm finding they aren't ideal for storage/cooking - nothing is, but I'll manage : ) I know one thing: After we're done with the reno, it'll feel like we're living like Kings! LOL! During the reno, I won't be limited in meals as I thought I might be. Again, and again, I'm so grateful to everyone here at the GW Cooking community!
