Is any one paying any attention out there? Am I the only one that drags my gas grill into the freezing cold garage to grill every Sunday?

I do it sometimes. Maybe not on a Sunday..... but sometimes.
Porcupine.......nope. Knew a guy that ate a cat one time (stringy, bad taste), but not a porcupine.

I know lots of people who don't even bother to drag the grill anywhere.....just fire it up outside the door....3 or 4 times a week.

If a picture of a tongue is all you get from a teenage boy, you're doing good Stacy! I'm not sure where this recipe came from, a blog I think. I found it a bit salty, but with the bland quinoa and the spinach, it all balanced out. I'd say in Thailand it would be served with white rice and tangy cucumber slices. Remember, I used boneless chicken breast and fatty bacon. Now that I think of it, I also used Siracha sauce instead of Sambal Ulek which I didn't have. Yes, I certainly 'messed with the recipe' but it still had a very authentic Asian taste. ENTRÉE Thai Lime and Pork Patties 8 oz. lean minced pork 2 cloves garlic, crushed 1 teaspoon grated lime zest 1 tablespoon Thai fish sauce 2 teaspoons oyster sauce 2 teaspoons sambal oelek 1/4 cup finely chopped green spring onions 1 egg white 1 tablespoon oil Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Shape tablespoons of the mixture into little patties. Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the patties in a single layer and cook until lightly browned underneath. Turn the patties and cook on the other side until browned and cooked through. Don't overcook the patties or they will become dry. Serve the patties with Chili Lime Sauce. Chili Lime Sauce 4 red or green chilies 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped 1/3 cup lime juice 1 tablespoon fish sauce 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander Process all the ingredients together to make a paste in food processor. Nicole, I posted it on the daily thread last week. It uses a bit of amber rum. I had a small bottle for years and years, and only use it on this. Ran out tonite, so have to buy more. Chicken and Rum 1 broiler-fryer, cut up 3 tbsp butter or margarine 3 tbsp oil 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup) 3 tbsp flour 1 cup water 3/4 cup V-8 juice 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper 1/4 cup amber rum 2 tbsp chopped parsley Brown chicken in butter and oil in a large skillet or dutch oven. Add onion and saute lightly. Remove chicken pieces and keep warm. Stir flour into pot, scraping any brown particles from the bottom. Add water and tomato juice; stir until mixture bubbles. Add garlic, salt and pepper. Return chicken, add amber rum and parsley. Place dutch oven (or transfer chicken to a casserole) in preheated 325 degree oven. Bake 40 minutes or until chicken is tender.

It's cold here also n S.Calif only 56 the highest today and for us that's cold. We are having leftover spaghetti and salad from last night.Last night we had a spaghetti dinner for 12 here at my house,to welcome a new to us ggs to the family. He's 13 and before his mom gave birth to him she and my gs broke up and she moved somewhere else and we didn't know where until just recently.He wanted to meet his dad and his side of the family,so his mom, dgs x, found him on facebook,they started talking and decided in the best interest of the kid that they would make it happen,so he could meet the family,so we had them all over last night for dinner.The new ggs wants to live with his dad,my gs,and they worked it out and my gs has been down here all week going thru the courts,schools etc to get everything in order. It has all worked out well,and we told his x that we hold no grudges against anyone,they were at the time as we say young and stupid.They have all grown older and wiser over the years. The x's mom and dd also came over for dinner and we all had a great time.The 13 year old ggs also has a stepbrother,my gs other son who is 8 years old and his x has a dd who is also 8,and we intend to keep them all connected with each other. Raven: The first porcupines I ever had was a coworker made them for a covered dish we were having at work. I never made them myself till about a year ago. You're always coming up with such good recipes. Monica: My sister got a gift card from Cracker Barrel for Christmas. If she gets to go sometime, I'll be happy to accompany her. Rhizo: "What can I bring?"..... Flavor for the bird. lol Prairie: I'm not a Chinese food person, but would like to try small bites of all you listed. Georgysmom: I don't know why so many of us relegate turkey to Thanksgiving. I think I'd like steak fajitas. Right now, your toasted crispy bread and tea sounds good. Susan: You had turkey too. Happy Anniversary and many more. Angela: Even though your meal today sounds so good, tell me when the corned beef/cabbage will be ready tomorrow. I have a hard enough time maintaining a constant temp. in the grill in the garage. I can't imagine what it would be like in the dark, wind and a foot of snow. I guess if I had a somewhat protected spot I'd do it.

We grill outdoors all the time but our path to the grill keeps filling in this year. Having a tough time keeping it open. I'm dying for some grilled chicken too!

I fill sorry for you guys. Where I'm from it never snows. I just love to bar-b-que. I don't like the smell in the house so I do most of my cooking outside. It's just me and my husband. I have a pit in the front and one in the back. I just bought this cool trap for the grease that falls from your pit. You need to get one. Check it out

I grill all winter and although that is easy to do here on the west coast of Canada, I also did it when I lived in Sault Ste. Marie. It could get pretty darn cold there but we just kept a path shovelled to the grill on the deck.

Grilled 8 dozen wings today in the garage while listening to the Browns beat up the Bengals. The wings are for a party next weekend. I am now making a duck breast with herbs and a balsamic sauce. My wife is cooking risotto with squash. Life is good.

Wheely boy If you ever get snowed in and you have a taste for wings.....I use a throw away aluminum foil pan and two jars of (hot) Ortaga taco sauce per 3 LB's of wings. wash the wings dump them in the pan and add the sauce put in the oven at 375 for 45 minutes and you have fall off the bone...bone sucking spicy wings, and you can set in front of the TV while they are cooking!

I'll have to try that when the weather is bad. When the weather is good, I'm generally found outside. When is comes to sports, hearing it on the radio is just as good. I'll have to try the taco sauce. So far my favorite flavor is Jamaican Jerk.
