Mme Alexander Alice in Wonderland doll, question about restoratio

Hi, folks-
I'd posted this over in the Crafts/Dolls area originally, but it looks like no one has gone there in a long time, so I was hoping someone here might have some sage advice for me.
I recently bought an Alice in Wonderland doll which was made by Mme Alexander in the 1960s. She needs a little TLC. Is there any recommended method for cleaning the dirt smudged on her face (she's got a plastic body and face) without harming her? Also, does anyone know of a good source for purchasing replacement stockings and shoes for specific dolls such as this? She HAS shoes and socks, but they don't look like the ones I'm seeing in similar dolls on Ebay.
I don't plan to sell her, I'd like to display her. But she needs some work to get back to her former glory.
Many, many thanks in advance.
