Dishwasher, Bosch or KitchenAid?
Comments (14)Good information, I wasn't aware of KitchenAid quality problems. We did plan to take a couple of plates and bowls to the store when we look at the Bosch...I'm sure that the KitchenAid would be fine in that area. My only reservation about the Bosch at this point is the stories that I've heard about the dishwasher smell problems. We do have an air gap installed now, though, so that may or may not prevent us from getting that problem... We never use heated dry on the GE that we have that we're getting rid of, just "flash dry". That leaves plastic somewhat wet, so whichever of the above that we get, Bosch or KitchenAid will most likely be somewhat better *smile*. Thanks. -Roger...See MoreGE monogram dishwasher, Kitchen Aid, or...?
Comments (4)I highly recommend trying your dishes in the other options that could help be the deciding factor. That helped me figure out that the Monogram just wouldn't work with some of the things I washed most frequently. But the Kitchenaid KUDS03STSS worked beautifully. I got the model I got of the kitchenaid because the model with the 3rd rack did not allow my wine glasses to fit without my removing the 3rd rack. So that would have just been a waste (being the wine drinker that I am.) I had a bad experience with the Bosch, returned it after 2 weeks and got a Kitchenaid. Bosch didn't meet my expectations for drying and had a funny odor (and yes, everything was installed correctly). I expect that everybody has had a bad experience with one brand or another. My advice on that, is if you do end up with something you don't like it right away then RETURN it immediately. Why would you put up with something that costs this much $ unless you love it? That is what I did and am totally happy that I did so....See MoreNew Kitchen Aid Dishwasher - Is this normal?
Comments (16)Suggest looking at it this way: If this machine performs as it should, you'll be living with it for a decade. New machines have longer cycle-times than the old ones so whatever sounds it makes will be part of your life for longer periods than ever before. If quiet is important to you (it would be to me) I would suggest strong consideration to putting this annoyance to bed right now....even if it cost a little more to do it. I'm sensitive to this because I just purchased a new machine a couple of weeks ago....a $600 dollar Whirlpool "Quiet Partner III" that I regard as too noisy. With the dealer's cooperation, I'm changing it out for "Quiet Partner V" model. Old one lasted nine years. I don't want this kind of sound in my life for another nine. Of course I'm paying the difference (about $200.00) for the upgrade but the dealer was very cooperative....See MoreNew Bosch Vs. Kitchen Aid Dishwasher? Or favorite brand
Comments (22)We have a Kitchenaid that the previous owners had installed, and I don't care for it. The pump has been been replaced once, and it sounds like it's dying again. Control panel is touchy and locks up frequently (I have to unplug it to reset it). We always have to double check the top rack with a wiggle and gentle extra push or else the door leaks. I've had a Whirlpool and a GE in past homes, neither I'd consider great brands, and the Kitchenaid has been the biggest disappointment....See Morejerrod6
