I just ordered my tomatoes and when I get them, I will be able to share, as I only need a few of each variety.

I have read posts where some of you plants dozens+ tomatoes. How many seeds are needed for a exchange?

Also, I have used 'year old' seeds with a lot of success. Are these appropriate for exchange?

discuss honestly with everyone before exchanging seeds. what the other person is willing to accept is obviously fine. Also how you store the seeds is important. I have seeds 15 years old with almost perfect germination. But some 1 year old seeds might not germinate. So there is no simple answer. Just be honest and inform the other party of all facts around the seeds.

The amount of seeds you trade is entirely up to you.

The best thing to do when trading any seeds is to mention everything in the very first post.

As an example, you could say that the seeds are OP or hybrid, you can give the date of the package or year saved next to the variety name, and you can list the amount of seeds you're offering per trade.

I suggest that you make your seeds into packets first before offering them for trade, that way you know how many trades you can make with them. There is nothing more aggravating than finding you've over-traded and you can't honor the agreement, it means more emails and apologies, etc. Also, because we're all human--if you make ten packets, plan on only trading eight of them--this gives you a safety cushion.

The most important thing to remember when you're trading seeds is that YOU are in control of your seeds. If you feel uncomfortable about a trade offer you don't have to accept it, just delete the emails and don't think twice about it because the person on the other end isn't thinking about you.

Good luck with your trades, it's a lot of fun and is a great way to increase your stock of seeds for growing in your garden.

Hi there. Yes, I have a local fish store, but with very limited stock IMO. We also have PetCo, PetSmart, etc. I just don't find the selection very great, and a I was talking with another customer at the local fish store, and she was the one who said the way to go was online. Huge selection, fish come quickly and healthy, and some have reasonable shipping. I am not finding that with my limited searching so far though. Shipping is like $30 regardless of size of order! Yikes! I will check out that website for plants. I have only one right now, which is some sort of red crypt. It's pretty, but I paid $8 for it. If I want to stock the whole tank at those prices, I will go broke. No, this is not my first tank, but it is my first halfway sizeable tank. I always had a 10 gallon, which I could never keep much going in past a year or so. I was always told by my LFS that the size is just too small to keep my parameters consistent, so I have a 35 gallon long tank right now. I am hopeful I can keep it going, thriving... Worst movie experience was just lately. Ed and I got to the movie theater on time (which is a small miracle for us). We buy snacks and then hand the usher our tickets and he directs us to the theater that ours is playing in. We sit there for 20 minutes of commercials and I am getting antsy because the movie should have started by now. Then there is some more trivia junk playing for 10 more minutes, finally I got mad and walked out to the usher. I complained and he just looks at me kind of stupidly and tells me I can get a refund if I like. I tell him that is not the point. Some of us pay babysitters to go out and expect to only be gone so long! I call home, tell the sitter we will be later than I thought and go back in to the movie. After another 15 minutes of trailers the movie started... It turned out that the little doofus directed us to the wrong theater that was playing the same movie at a later time. D'OH! I wanted to bean him with a Goober!

Good morning ladies ~ I received my box from Dee this morning. This is probably the neatest box I have ever received. It truly touched my heart. There was a present in there for everyone! Rick received a suet cake and feeder. Each of my kiddos received a bundle of pencils and a candy cane. They also received the game Conga! They love it and just got done playing it! I received 2 ornaments that are old world style. Old world jingle bells, and a sachet in an old world motif. All of which are now hanging on our tree. Also, my favorite bath products! Lavender shower gel and bath salts. Holiday coaster mini frames and a rooster! The homemade cookies are awesome! Everything was wrapped to beautifully. The time and care you took really shows in this wonderful package Dee. We love everything. This is the first time I have ever received a box that had something for everyone in it. That is too awesome! I feel like such a putz. The box I ssent you isn't half as nice as this one. I was in a rush, and I shouldn't have been. I should have taken the time to wrap everything because you deserve that and so much more. You are such a special person. I do hope that you enjoy the contents in the box. Help! Unfinished floor gouge in board! Please...Need info!

As a professional floor finisher, I would reccomend that you have them change the board. Its a simple process that would probably take the better part of 30 minutes, and they shouldnt give you any trouble about it. While it is likely that the wood patch would sand and finish to the point of blending in good enough to keep others from noticing, you already know its there and you will notice it. I try to avoid installing boards like that at all, and if it is totally necessary, I reserve them for closets or against the walls where they are usually hidden by furniture. Last year I planted way too many. This spring I only plan on 2 of my best. Email me through the board and I can give you a web site that has a giveaway going on. They received a donation of tomato seeds and are passing them on. If you don't like the varieties you could barter with them. I have only tried one of the varieties though. I'd post it here, but it's against the rules.

Every year I say I'm gonna save seed so I can trade, but it's just so time consuming. I'll have some Marianna's Peace this year, but that's it. Oh well, it's back to the catalogs. Happy trading
