Could you tell us who the manufacturer was and what the tube gauge was of the bows? Were there any cross ties? It's unfortunate that many places simply sell you a greenhouse without any information on how much live load it can support. (snow is considered a live load) Some things I have found from researching greenhouses in snow/ice areas for a (30x48) 1) Use Gothic Style greenhouse, snow tends to fall off easier 2) Bows should be AT LEAST 14 gauge 1.90" tubing, 13 gauge better 3) Frames should have cross ties with trusses. Note that some greenhouses, like the FarmTek Gothic style Cold Frames of this size simply have a 10 foot cross tie near the peak which is inadequate. Cross ties should be at least 15 gauge 1.315" O.D. tubing or even 1.66" tubing. 4) It would also be preferable to have 15 gauge 1.315" O.D. purlins instead of the more common use of 17 gauge which is easy to bend. 5) If your greenhouse is heated and you use double layer inflated poly, you should turn the inflater off when there is an accumlation on your GH, especially ice. Deflating will allow the outer layer to come into contact with the inner warmer layer and help melt/slide the snow/ice off. Reflate after that has happened.

The cracks are almost as wide as the grout line. They appear only on lower portion. I don't know about the cleaning and the type of caulk because we had it done for us and I wasn't watching. The caulk looks and feels fairly elastic.

Hi Folks, I'm here, w/ a screwed up new name (don't know how that happened). Russ, that 1st pic, also no ID. I bought 2 pots of it that were braided w/ a sprout or 2 coming up from the base & unbraided them. I think the crooked stem is from the stems having been braided for a while. They're REALLY slow growing, I'd thought I could use them to make new plants, but they're way too slow. Am actually thinking of combining them in one pot, 'cause why not? Don't know that I need 2 pots of that, losing patience w/ them I guess. Has a tag in it handwritten that says S Balii? Yes, I've seen the talk of name change for Sans, but I'm not changing my names either, esp since mine are mostly no name right now anyway. Ditto re: Aloes in recent times. IMO names really only matter for swaps / sales. In the early 2000s, Hoya people went thru the name changing shenanigans, around the time I was helping introduce Norma to Hoyas. I went out to Burbank to meet her & attend a lovely Hoya Fest she had for about a dozen of us from Hoya forum. I think of Norma often, especially when looking at my Sans. Especially my newish S. We do have a contract with our GC. I have looked into the contract and we will likely need to go through arbitration then litigation. I hope to avoid litigation as no one wins, other than the lawyers of course. Our contract with the architects and engineer are merely for the initial plan submission and structural observation, anything beyond that is extra which we have voiced to them we are willing to commission their time just for our peace of mind. The construction owner is blaming it on our plan that it isn’t detailed enough. I know it is not the best plan, but it was good enough for him to blow through it without asking questions. We thought we were doing it right by asking the contractor and the workers (who apparently works for the construction company and role is limited). We then pushed it further with the field manager who didn‘t seem to know better either.
