oops - correction the Dacor model... should be Distinctive.

I have had the Electrolux non Icons for about a year and a half. Excellent performers, even baking, temps spot on and no problems whatsoever. I've said as much many times on this forum, if you do a search you'll bring up a number of posts.

Ditto cj47, alto I have the single Icon 30' oven.
Trouble free for oven 5 years now.
Love the smooth fully glide out racks, the large oven window and the large display for the controls.

Google E30EW85GPS You will see AJMadison come up with a number of buyer reviews, most 5 star out of 5.

You will just have to Goggle Dacor Ovens as no reviews show up under the model you posted. Again Dacor oven reviews show
up on AJMadison web-site---but not such a "Happy Story" this time, quite a few 1 out of 5 stars, even for their single ovens, which according to a TON of research I've done are generally more reliable---especially after
self-cleaning.

One more question, is the Elux touch pad easy to deal with? We liked the simplicity of the Viking control knobs. My sister has a dacor and says the touchscreen drives her nuts. She says it takes 5 buttons to get her oven to start.

I hadn't really thought about it, but I do recall even watching the salesmen get a little befuddled when trying to demonstrate the oven's touchscreens.

We love the display and wavetouch controls. Ours is mounted undercounter, but the controls are still very easy to see and use, the writing on the readout is very large, for example the word convection is about an inch long, so I can read it without my glasses. See the post about the GE oven with the hard to read display, so mounting under counter a good easy to use touch panel is a must, as are the fully gliding out racks.

The oven is easy to use. All the controls for the oven are LARGE Circles, about an inch. Lets say you want to "Convection bake"
(1) Touch convection bake circle, it beeps and blinks.
(2) Enter the temp (we use 350) so 3, 5, 0.
(3) Touch Start.
DONE!!!

Now lets get a lil fancier and preheat the oven, OK?
(1) Touch the preheat circle.
(2) Enter the Temp
(3) Touch Start
(4) Oven will beep when it has reached preheat temp, if you missed it, No worries, the display on mine shows Dashes, until it reaches preheat, then the display shows the temp, so all I gotta do is look for numbers instead of dashes to know the preheat is done.

Mine is a 2006 model, I believe the newer models actuall show the actual temp as the oven preheats, Maybe CJ can comment as her oven is a newer model than mine.

Anyway, I'm an Old F*** and I have no problem seeing and operating the oven controls,even thou it's below counter.

My brother has a Dacor gas range and has not been happy with it. It's broken down several times, including Thanksgiving 2010 when we had to transport a partially cooked turkey to the absent neighbor's house to finish roasting.

For the Electrolux, is the Wave preferable over the Icon? or Vice Versa? What is the difference?

I've found the controls on my ovens to be just fine, pretty intuitive. Just select your oven (upper or lower), select your cooking mode, program your temperature and hit start. The biggest problem I had in getting used to the new ranges was remembering to hit 'start'! LOL, I got used to it pretty quickly, though.

If you've looked around here at all, you've heard my Electrolux oven refrain: Love 'em, temps are spot on, they bake very evenly, and I love the roll out racks. I've run the self clean and no problems. I've been pleased with the performance, even the "Perfect Turkey" button, which I actually snickered at and was fully prepared to distain. It really does work nicely, and you can adjust the target temperature. I'm very pleased with these ovens and have no problem recommending them.
