Vera: What cool planters and at a deal too. I have no idea what to plant in them but I think the frog planter would look cool if you mosaic it. Under the home forum you can find all sorts of talented people that mosaic things like that. I have thought about trying it my self but have not yet. Maybe an elephant ear bulb would look good in it or something tall. Brenda

I would take any suggestions of how to use those legs. They are quite big. I'll have to take some measurements and photo's up against something to help show their size. This is off the subject, but I have been having trouble with moles burrowing under one of my roses and leaving the roots dangling. I sort of used the idea of a plate border with some old plastic plates I found in the garage and buried them pretty deep to block off it's path. Seems to be working for now.

I find them listed on Craig's List and also sometimes see signs similar to the for sale signs while out driving. There are two types: ones done by an agency and ones done by family members. I find the best stuff at the ones done by an agency, though they may also charge a bit more as they are more aware of the value of an item. They are also willing to bargin, esp. if you offer to purchase multiple items. They are often done Fri/Sat/Sun, Friday being the best time to find that special item, Sunday the best time to get a great deal. It's a good idea also be clear what it is you are looking for as well as any requirements of your space in terms of size of the pieces as well as colors. If you have fabric or paint swatches bring them along. That said, depending on where you live, Craigs's list can also be a great source for those special items as long as you search it regularly. I find between the two, I not only get a better price, but better quality. Happy Hunting!

Nuts - I've met him several times and his wife twice so I wouldn't say that I really know him. However they are very easy to talk to - very open and congenial. The last time I spoke with him I was wearing an emerald ring that my DH had designed with our jeweler and when he complimented me on the ring I was thrilled. Granted it could have just been a savvy business comment to make a customer feel appreciated but it didn't sound that way - in fact, he noticed my ring and then blurted out "Now, that's an emerald!" When I thanked him he asked about the design and seemed genuinely impressed that my DH had drawn up the original sketch. Most of his jewelry is sterling with or without gold and many pieces have small diamonds or semiprecious stones. My favorite pieces are his bracelets. He has his annual sale in mid November and if you check his web site in October you'll find the dates. He usually does it on 2 consecutive weekends and it's rather an ordeal to attend. They have a sign in sheet and only a limited number of customers are allowed in the factory showroom at a time (maybe 25 or so) and depending on when you arrive you may have to wait a few hours. I'm lucky that both of my sons live within a few blocks so in past years I've parked at one of their apartments, took them out for breakfast and then walked over. Who knows - maybe you'll have a business trip next November.
