Help to identify jug and sugar bowl please?

Hi I was wondering if someone could help me identify a milk jug and sugar bowl that I have had for ages. I have tried to track its history on the net without much success. I think its Swinnertons but thats all i can gather. It seems pretty old. Its white, with blue marks on it. I have posted pictures so I hope you can see them.

Any help or hints are appreciated.

I can't read the backstamp....which would tell a lot.
The pattern is very familiar, but I can't put a name on it.
Can you take a clearer picture of the markings on the bottom?

shaz2009- it looks like the bottom says Hampton Ivory and it looks very similar to the Kent pattern in blue. I enclosed a link that gives a little history about the manufacturing company.

You can also go to a site http://replacements.com and search for the pattern. They also have other pieces you can order.

It may not be the right pattern it was hard to tell by the two pictures but you might be able to tell more accurately since you have the piece. If it is not the correct piece there are a few other blue themed pieces- just put it in the search under Swinnertons blue.

The "pres cut" logo was owned by the McKee glass company..maybe before or maybe after it merged with Jeanette... they were made in the first decade of the 20th century. Some of the items they made were fairly exact replicas of some of the brilliant period cut glass. Hard to tell what you have without a picture...likely sugar, creamer and perhaps a pickle dish? Candy dish? It will be very hard to put a name to the pattern as the pres-cut patterns weren't documented as well as the EAPG patterns were. I own the Kamm pitcher books so perhaps I can put a name on them. Anyhow....enjoy. Linda C

American Brilliant period cut glass....made betweem 1880 and 1920...roughly. Very very nice! The prices on these pieces has gone south a bit....likely now you couldn't get more than $120 for it, but 25 years ago they were selling for twice that if they were perfect. Sorry I can't tell you the pattern nor the maker without a lot of research. Is there a signature on it anywhere? Maybe etched in the bottom, But perhaps near the rim? Those pieces were made of high lead content glass, then the basic bowl was polished and hand cut using a diamond wheel. Very expensive to make. Rings like a bell when you flick it with a fingernail!! adapting cutout sugar cookie recipe - please help!

I made these a couple of years ago. They were good and different. Everyone does regular cutouts and so this was different and my friends who I gifted with cookies seemed to be appreciative to see something different than regular cutout cookies. Martha Stewart's Dark Chocolate Cutout Cookies It's a Martha Stewart Recipe: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature 1 1/2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar 1 large egg, lightly beaten 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract Nonpareils, for sprinkling (optional) DIRECTIONS 1. Sift flour, cocoa powder, salt, and cinnamon into a bowl. 2. Put butter and confectioners' sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on medium-high speed until pale and fluffy, about 3 minutes. mix in egga nd vanilla. Reduce speed to low. Gradually mix in flour mixture. Wrap dough in plastic wrap. Refrigerate until firm, 1 hour or overnight. 3. On a lightly floured work surface, roll out dough to 1/8-inch thick. Transfer to a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Chill in freezer 15 minutes. 4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Using a 3-inch cookie cutter, quickly cut out shapes from dough (if dough begins to soften, chill it in freezer 3 to 5 minutes). Reroll and cut scraps. Transfer shapes to prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart. Brush flour from shapes. Sprinkle with nonpareils, if using. Chill in freezer until firm, about 15 minutes. 5. Bake cookies until crisp, about 9 minutes. Let cool completely on sheets on wire racks. Cookie can be stored betwween layers of parchment in an airtight container at room temperature up to 1 week.

Hi, it does say Hampton Ivory on it, and I looked up the Swinnertons link and the mark was there.

It says Historic Castles around the mark on the bottom, and haven't seen the pattern it is on replacements.

I will get some batteries and take a better photo.

I have looked everywhere I know to find that mark....and I can't.
But....there is something my memory about that pattern, I remember seeing it in gift shops and at household auctions when I first started buying "stuff".
I think It was made about 1950 or later, and that there wasn't a set of dishes in that pattern, but I seem to remember a pitcher and wash basin with that pattern and I think what you have is a mineature wash bowl and pitcher.
One of the things that makes me think it's so new is that it's "flow blue" colors....but the blue doesn't flow.
sorry....doesn't help much beecause it's just sort of memory and hunch....but that's the best I can do for now.
