Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer DD24SI7

I am considering this unit for our master bed morning kitchen. It will only be used for cups and glasses, needs to be fully integrated and we only need a single drawer. Searching AJ Madison, it looks like FP is the only option. Are there others?

F&P makes all dishwasher drawers.

Even if there were others with a different brand,say KA,it would still be made by F&P.

Thanks dee! Small coffee/wine bar with a Miele single induction, fridge drawer , fridge drawer and a few cabs....nothing fancy!

ChiSue, The drain hoses flex every time the drawers are opened/closed but there's no immediate concern unless they're leaking. They're designed to be flexible but cracking at some point of aging is a fairly common thing. The fill hoses also flex but they're more of a stretchy/rubbery material than the drain hoses. My lower drawer drain hose had a crack a few inches behind the drawer. Both had cracks where they exit behind the unit and made a sharp turn toward the left through the cabinetry partition. Impossible to see back there when the unit is in place so I have no idea how much bend is in effect on the new hoses. :-| KA discontinued drawer dishwashers a few years ago. The only brand currently on the US market is F&P, and possibly DCS (which is owned by F&P). I considered updating to the latest model (tall upper drawer!) and the racking is more adjustable now ... but decided to fix the DD603.

Oh no, that's terrible. :/ I love my DDs too. The DD I linked will take a custom panel, although it is only semi-integrated and not integrated so it will not look quite the same as what you have. I'll provide a link directly to the paneled version. I looked through AJ Madison again for you and they do not seem to have any brands that are a single DD that takes a panel other than the F&P. AJM is usually pretty comprehensive, but perhaps there is something else out there. I suggest you also try posting your question in the Appliances forum and see if the experts over there know anything. Does not require an air gap regards to machine function. Each drawer (on a double-drawer unit) has a drain hose and a Y-adapter is (should be) included to connect them to the plumbing port. VERY important that the drain hoses are routed under the sink on a high loop, and down from the loop to the Y, *without* sagging lower before connecting to it. If local codes require an air gap, F&P has a special (optional) dual air gap for connecting both hoses to avoid backflow from one to the other.

Had the exact same problem with our panel ready Fisher Paykel single drawers (we have two of them in different places). Tapping on the drawer didn’t work initially because the appliance installer was just not well versed in the proper installation and did not hook up the sensors properly. We also have shaker style doors and he didn’t use screws because of the depth problem (I believe the sensors were just dangling). If I remember correctly (18 months ago) it took us 3 service visits for them to get it right. They had already damaged one panel which had to be redone (screws came through). They were pretty afraid to even use shorter screws (panels were so thin) and if I’m remembering correctly, they had to improvise and did not attach the sensor in the normal way. I’m pretty sure they didn’t use any screws but tape instead. The dishwasher has worked flawlessly since then.

F&P does not make all the drawer dishwasher brands/models that are/were on the market.

Kenmore, Maytag, and current KitchenAid (KUDD03 units) are not sourced from F&P. In the case of Kenmore and Maytag, I should say were not sourced from F&P, being that Kenmore and Maytag web sites indicate they no longer offer drawer units. They're a different design that was developed by Maytag, which Whirlpool put on the market after they bought the Maytag company.

First-generation KA drawers (KUDD01 models) were sourced from F&P.

F&P produces their own branded units, of course, and also DCS.

as someone said when I was looking for my dd's--why not buy from the original dish drawer company, they have been at it the longest and have made adjustments as needed over the years. I have a double F&P dd now. New house will have 2 singles, one on each side of the sink. I love them, they are great.

F&P manufactures all dishwasher drawers.

Per service docs I have on the 2nd-generation KA (KUDD03, there were no KUDD02 models) and Maytag drawer units, they were initially produced from Whirlpool's facility in Jackson, TN. Kenmore Elite drawer units are the same design (not F&P), and I overlooked that they were/are also marketed under the Jenn-Air label.

Whirlpool closed the Jackson TN facility in August 2009, production was supposedly moved to an existing facility in Ohio.
