Rose Medallion lovers??

Hi there, new to this board-usually always in the kitchen forums. Wondering if anyone collects Rose Medallion?? I have an extensive collection that I inherited from my wonderful grandparents. My grandfather LOVED his rose medallion-we have square plates (marked 250.00 on the back from when they bought them) a huge bowl, small bowls, round plates, cups & saucers etc. We also have a strange piece similar to a gravy boat with a braided handle that my grandfather always seemed to think was very valuable. We have lots of things other than the rose medallion too but I won't post all at once. Anyway...I was wondering if anyone else had similar pieces-maybe we could share photos. Any idea of the value? I am not looking to sell but just curious what the market is at this time for the chinese export. I'm in the Northeast region (MA specifically). Looking forward to hearing from you all!!

I love it....but alas don't have a single piece of Chinese export porcelain.
I am linking to a picture and a little tale about rose medallion porcelain....
The thing for a beginner to know is there si an awful lot ofs tuff with "sort of" the rose medallion look sold at places like Pier One....but if you ever see the real thing you will quickly notice the difference. Sort of like that between an "Oriental" rug made out of Olefin and sold at Home Depot and a real hand made Oriental rug.

I'm SO glad you posted this, because I picked up two plates and two saucers at an estate sale a few months ago and knew they were Chinese, but not sure what type they were. I'm kicking myself now, because there was a full set of these dishes and I only got the four pieces. You can just see the two plates I bought on my buffet at Christmas:

I have Twilight Zone, but own root from Chamblees. It is normally purple. Mine doesn't seem to look hot pink. Anyway Kublan- you must have missed one :) because I just picked up my order from Pop's and I found my Distant Drums. Ooooh and I'm glad you did cause its a beauty. My car smelled so good by the time I got him home. I picked up my friend's order as well. I thought all of our bushes looked really nice and healthy. Thanks so much for letting us know about the nursery. For those of you interested in Secret - or anything that was missing from this shippment, the girl told me that they are going to get another shipment probably Late Nov. or early December. You may want to call and see if she thought they would get it in by then. Again, Thanks. I love my new roses.

Lol, I am a rose tree hugger indeed. :-) I will take some photos for you when I receive them. 18 of them should be here today. The other 2 orders of 17 rose trees should be here next week. Ordered 2 yards compost and topsoil mix yeasterday, it will be delivered today. :-) We bought a country property for the weekend last year, the place has 7,340 sq ft decking and patio area, it sounds crazy, but that's one of the reasons I fell in love with the place. It was meant to be a family compound but it has never been used as one, the previous owner’s kids and their families refused to move in........these trees are going to bright up the place under the sun.

Hello from Argentina, new to roses, read a lot but little experience! want to start with grafting will tell you later what triggered my curiosity about grafts, my pics first, this one highly fragant, bought it 5 years ago, with 1m trunk and 2 roses, did almost nothing I did cut the top of it and rooted it, happy this one came after a year, now this happened, the base of the toll trunk I pruned it to the base and now these roses different lighter red and no frangance are blooming, curious about it has something to do with above or under the graft???????? anyway beautiful with 12 buds! pic at the bottom the original rose, the top what is growing after cutting the top, now confused!!! have a great gardening day!

Lindac-I have a very similar platter to the link that you sent me. I'm going to upload a bunch of photos. I'll start a new thread b/c it won't be just rose medallion. Any other pics anyone has please share!!!

Lorin, you set a pretty table!! Love the Pickard salt and peppers!
Be aware that everything called Rose medallion is not created equal!

LOL, good eye, Linda and thanks for the compliment on the table. So what's up with the jar...not a good example of Rose Medallion? I'm really not familiar enough with Chinese export stuff to know....I usually focus on American/French/English antiques.

Not old, not Chinese "export" ...meaning not that stuff made up until about 1850. Exported from China? Yeah, maybe....but when?
Doesn't have that lovely old celadon glaze.....and it has a mark. Not good old Chinese export porcelain.
