Le Creuset and Induction
Comments (5)Great ideas, I'll go back and search plllog's posts on induction and Le Creuset. We've posted back and forth regarding induction a year or so ago, but not since I acquired my new cast iron enamel pots. In fact, plllog inspired my decision to make the investment in Le Creuset. And I'm pretty sure it was her enthusiasm for induction that prodded me into taking another look after initially rejecting it when the first induction cooktop I saw at EXPO looked clunky and hard to clean with too much trim on it. They are solving those issues quickly so I'm keeping a lookout for the best option now. My unit is Max Burton and I'll check for issues, may still have warranty left....See MoreLe Creuset tri-ply stainless
Comments (2)Thanks, deepwater. That was really interesting. I did e-mail Calphalon and they verified that the tri-ply they sell in the U.S. is not induction ready and said something like, "only our cast iron products will work on an induction cooktop." They said not one word about the product you linked. This is really too bad since I've really liked using my hard anodized pots and pans. They always look good and I'm not a pot scrubbing kind of person plus food cooks really well in them....See MoreBest cookware from various sets (All Clad/Le Creuset/Lodge
Comments (5)Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials. And how smart you are making this inquiry! You can't go wrong with All-Clad, but it's very pricey. IMHO, it's not worth the money. You can't go wrong with the private brands from either Costco or Sam's Club. My Sam's club set is tri-ply and does a beautiful job with whatever I'm cooking. The Costco set has a 5-ply bottome, but it doesn't go up the sides. Regardless, it has wonderful reviews. Go see the sets for yourself, paying particular attention to the weight and balance of the pans. Check out the prices for Le Creuset on Amazon. I have the 5- and 7 1/2 quart round Dutch ovens. (If I were to purchase them now, I would opt for the oval shape. It's more versatile.) Keep the heat down on the stove top and they'll serve you well for the rest of your life....See MoreXpost: Le Creuset and Induction
