side panel for Jenn-Air refrigerator

I am looking to buy a Jenn-Air french door refrigerator but it doesn't come with a side panel! I've been told it's the exact same refrigerator as viking so does anyone know if a viking side panel will fit? Has anyone custom fabricated a stainless steel side panel before?

Why don't you build the fridge in with cabinetry instead? It's a far more integrated look, and unless your style is extremely modern, a fully wrapped stainless fridge doesn't exactly aesthetically fit most kitchens as well as one treated with cabinet side panels.

it is the same as the viking and yes the viking will fit. However it may be considerably cheaper to find a metal worker and have something made.

Judy, we did see a GE Profile panel ready and I think it was metal sliders but to be honest I need to check it again. We like the adjustable pull out shelves and liked the bottom freezer three drawers better as I think the Jenn-Air had only 2. I do not know how the panel are mounted on either so need to check that. The handles are just not a big issue for us. I just saw yesterday information on the Fisher Paykel's (#RF201ADUX)new French door bottom freezer and liked the look and the information on their website about it. So I will give it a look for sure.

Jenn-Air vs. Monogram Refrigerator & Dishwasher

I cannot speak on how well the Jenn air fridge or dishwasher will work, but I do have a Monogram dw. Some people have posted that they absolutely HATE this machine, some are satisfied enough with it. I bought one because I got a great deal on one with a custom panel. Is it the greatest dishwasher I have ever owned? No, the noisy Kenmore I had years ago did a better job, but having said that as long as I scrape properly, stack properly(that has a bit of a learning curve on the lower part as the tines are short and allow the dishes to flop over)and use the cookware cycle(which makes for a long cycle) most of the time the dishes will come out clean. For some reason it hates my soup bowls, and I can generally count on a thick soup not getting washed away. I love the amount of vertical space for the lower and upper racks. I love that it is EXTREMELY quiet(the fuller it is the quieter it is and sometimes I have to check if it is on). For consistantly cleaning dishes and ease of loading, I would not buy another one. For space and quietness I would consider giving one another try. I would rate it a 7 to 8 out of 10.

Hi, Thanks for your posts. According to the specs I would need 24 5/8. I guess it would be safer to have the panels 25". I could always move the refrigerator forward 3/8". I think I would rather have a little too much than taking a chance of having some of the black showing. 25" would bring the panel to the edge of the countertop. Will that look alright, or should the panel only go to the end of the cabinets? I can't tell from the pictures if the panel is equal to the countertop. Thanks Gail
