Options for testing for mold behind drywall?

We bought a house with a finished basement (drywall on walls and ceiling). We replaced the wall-to-wall carpet (which smelled) with commercial FLOR carpet tiles.

We know there had been some water issues in the past (disclosed by the seller). When we pulled up the carpet, some of the tack strips were completely rotted, so I know the floor had been soaked at least once.

There is a sump pump (with battery back-up) installed, and we haven't had any waters issues in the past two years except for once when the hose for the humidifier fell off and soaked the new carpet tiles, which dried out nicely (there's no pad, and it's totally synthetic).

What are my options for testing for mold? My husband is reluctant to let me poke holes in the freshly painted walls.

One of the water restoration companies said they could bring in an air quality tester for $600-$700 bucks, which seems rather pricey.

Thanks,

Berta
