First Missouri Timber Den!

Me and my brother in law went out to a totally new area today. Ive been fooling around on a satalite imagery map lately and found a pretty nice looking area. Useing my gps and a print out of the area, we tracked through fields and thick woods. Along the way we found some cement slaps in the middle of a field that produced two milks. We found them pretty much at the same time. We continued walking and found a yellow bellied racer, two garter snakes, and some ringneck snakes under trash. About a mile later, we found the area that we were looking for. We started flipping at the base of a big rock pile when all of a sudden, I heard the tell tail rattle of a timber rattlesnake and the feeling of something slithering over my foot. Luckilly I was wearing jeans because at my feet was a two and a half foot beautiful rattlesnake. We continued for a little bit but we were running out of time so we headed back. I am looking forward to next spring to investigate a little further.
