Great Day

I went out for a few hours today to do a little Mo/Ks herping. I didnt find what I always set my sites for (hognose snake) but I did find some great herps and potentially good timber rattlesnake habitat.

The first snake of the day was a small timber rattlesnake that I found under some tin. Then I found some copperheads and racers followed up with a speckled king and a prairie king. I then found some more copperheads and another timber rattlesnake! The second timber was found a half a mile from where I think a den is. On the way home, I stoped off at my for sure red milk spot where I found a small red milk with a bulls eye on its head.

Here are my totals:

2 timber rattlesnakes

6 copperheads (one was a good 42"+, one of the biggest Ive seen)

4 yellow bellied racers

1 speckled king

1 prairie king

1 red milk

1 slender glass lizards

2 great plains skink (one was in Missouri)
