Frogs on pool cover

Hi folks, new here, need some advice. while my husband and I have been debating when to uncover and open our pool, some frogs have taken up residence out there. They are sort of chirping, and the closest I could find to this on the web is a gray treefrog. I can here them singing quite loudly at night, and this evening I went out with a flashlight and watched them on the pool cover. I'm delighted to see frogs around BUT I don't want them on my pool cover. What do we do now? Any suggestions? Thanks

We decided to clean all the mucky water off the pool cover so the frogs might move on to more suitable breeding grounds. As we were working I could hear a frog "singing" very close to me. I started carefully searching and I found this little guy in an upturned fold in the edge of the pool cover. He was quite accomodating about letting me take his photo (do you think he was scared senseless?)

Anyway, I'm pretty sure he is a Gray Tree Frog, do you agree? and will he move out of the fold on his own, or do you think I should move him from there to a tree or down to the lake? Opinions please.

What a chubby! I bet he's eatin' all the skeeters at your place. I'd keep him around.

Just get him out of the skimmer. He'll be fine if you put him in the shade somewhere. I hope you have done so by now. :)

I just joined, so I've been browsing. I know this was posted over a month ago, but thought I'd jump in anyway. It's hard to tell size from a picture, but it looks to me like a grey treefrog. Spring peepers are about the size of your thumbnail, or thereabouts, and grey treefrogs are more golf ball sized. Did you see the belly? They have bright yellow bellies.

I don't know if this will help but....we have a fish pond/dog pond..no fish the frogs moved in. i noticed the tadpoles were stuck. I put a log across the top. as they got older they hung on the log. Later the frogs used the logs to go back and forth to the water. AS long as the water doesn't freeze to thick. you can wiggle the log to keep an air opening. With a pool you may have to use a large branch. Good luck, but remember we can unfortunately only cheat nature so much.

I am not a PB but am a service tech by trade. I am not a Frog fan. As mentioned, the chlorine packs are expensive, convenient though. Its the mineral packs I could live without. They inject metal ions, claiming you can run a lower chlorine level. HOGWASH. The kill times for these ions against the biologicals and the fact that they do nothing for oxidation purposes means they can only augment chlorine but since chlorine is so much faster, all you really wind up doing is adding potential stain makers. With liquid, daily dosing is a must. You might think of getting a liquid feed system like a Liquidor or a tanks with a Stenner pump to automatically dose for a number of days before refilling with liquid. 10% by me retails for $5, btw. I'm almost certain it's a Spring Peeper. Check this photo and link from the University of Rhode Island. It describes the chirping we hear around our pool and the other characteristics of the one I found.

we have peepers and this doesn't sound like a peeper. I'm not an expert by any means but I do think it's a gray tree frog.
