Well, I do thank you for trying to look at it. I got discouraged waiting for someone to come along and ID the frog for me. Must not be a very active forum here I guess. I did get an ID from someone elsewhere, and I have a male Bullfrog. I do have another question though. I researched them, and I read that they hibernate inside the mud during the winter. There is no large water source near to me, and I don't have a clue as to why this guy decided to live here. I've provided him with a nice little habitat, and he seems content to stay there. What happens when winter comes though? If he stays until then, what can I do for him? Should I try to capture him and take him to a pond? I don't think he would be too easy to capture. :o) Even though he is missing a foot, he is a strong hopper. Thanks for any help! :o)

It is indeed a male Bullfrog. He has likely taken up at your home due to his disability. They do go to the bottom of the pond and hibernate in the mud, but if there is no mud bottomed pond, you could take him indoors for the winter and feed him crickets. He may be able to hop pretty good, but he is a little bit a lightweight, and I suspect that he has a little trouble feeding himself. This disability may make it difficult for him to take the insects he feeds on effectively. I would try and augment his diet with crickets from the bait shop or pet store and see if he gets a little fatter. You will want to dust the crickets with reptile vitamins.
With his injury, he will be unable to fend off predators, and will likely get eaten at a big pond, and if he makes it to winter, may not have enough fat stored to make it through. If it were me, I would take him in and try to make his life easier, but some are in favor of nature taking its course (which would likely be curtains for the frog).
If you would like any info about how to help him, let me know; I have kept many amphibians over the years, when teaching Environmental Ed. He may also need antibiotics, to stave off infection in the stump. Unlike salamanders, frogs cannot regrow limbs.

BTW: The external ear, called a tympanum, is larger than the eye, making him a male. He has no skin folds from head to groin, which cuts out Green Frog. He has a fold of skin that goes around his ear, making him a Bullfrog. See: Bullfrog on Wikipedia.
