New dragonfly

First time seeing this one. Way too fast for my camera on a cloudy day. He was buzzing around and would stop in mid flight and watch me, then move a couple feet to the left and watch me, then to the right. Like a drone from a Star Wars movie. Any thoughts, Sophie?

Nice job! I'm rarely successful in getting any kind of focus on such a small moving target. My dragonflying is a bit rusty these days. Is it a blue dasher?

Kewl! Cypress Clubtail? I really need to brush up on my dragonfly stuff. I get so wrapped up in so many other things when they're not around, by the time they come back, I've forgotten more than I ever knew. 8-> Been there, done that, re the contortion act to get a decent shot. My family just pretends they don't know me. *heh* ICA, Sophie ^i^

That is the strangest looking dragonfly I have ever seen. Very cool looking. We only have a couple different kinds around here. I have seen the fire engine red ones and fluorescent green ones, very pretty, but mostly the blue/green ones that get very big. We love them, my daughters and I always play with them when we are at the pool.
