Found two rattlesnakes on a hike in Yellowstone

This time rather than post on fieldherpforum first, I'm giving nature.net my first report on the day I spent in Yellowstone after seeing herps in Idaho.

Bears and wolves are Yellowstone's most well known charasmatic megafauna, but Yellowstone's little secret is that you can find rattlesnakes too.

We spent May 18th in the north part of the park and found ten moose, three grizzly bears, and two prairie rattlesnakes.

Here is the habitat we found the rattlesnakes in:

It was warm there causing a great deal of snow melt and making the rapids and waterfalls pretty spectacular.
