If you can put up some pics to see your water fall that would be good. I have two tadpoles and they will blend in very well with the liner/plastic. If you have pots and rocks etc in your pond they always hide under them. If your fish and frogs are hanging out around the surface alot, they either are sick (somthin in the water) or not enough oxygen which is what it sounds like in your situation. I feed my fish every day and just put like 20 pellets in every day. You have to keep the pump running 24/7 in order to keep the water clean (you need a filter if you dont already have one) and to keep the oxygen moving through the water. Also you need to keep your waterfall running to keep the mousquitoes from laying eggs because they prefer still water. hope that helps

Hey buyorsell888888 I think the bullfrogs would challenge you. They've been here longer than you've been alive and they were INVITED!!!! Native to eastern and central North America, Rana catesbeiana, the bullfrog, is widely introduced in the western states including Hawaii. Speculation as to the intent of early introductions includes plantings intended for food (to provide frog legs for the West Coast frog leg market which declined in the 1930s) (ODFW 2001) as well as for aesthetic purposes (i.e. for their distinctive croaking sound) (Lampman 1946). In 1914, the Oregon Fish and Game Commission granted PERMISSION to a private individual to introduce this frog into the mid-Columbia River basin below John Day (Lampman 1946). In 1924 or 1925, reports Lampman (1946), bullfrogs resulting from the above planting were shipped to Portland for further distribution in the lower Columbia River basin. Thanks for the comments. I do know that if the temperatures get really high, the tadpoles will not survive out in those buckets. But, I am going to try to save the next batch. I found a frog trapped in a bucket yesterday and took it out...sides of the bucket were too tall for him to jump out. I must have been Bhuddist in a previous life. They don't kill anything, even a fly. Now, if I can just keep the ants out of my produce on the kitchen counter!!

ROFL Echoes! I thought I was the only one with "gardening toads". The boys have one they "rescued" from their school. It has to be the largest regular old toad I've ever seen! They turned him loose in our courtyard, and there he stays. He loves to come out while I am watering One day I just watered a pot, and went back inside. I went back out a little bit later, and he jumped at me-scared me to death! Then he hopped under the faucet waiting for me to turn it on. We wonder what he's going to do this winter. Hopefully he'll be back next year. Hopefully he'll come back. I wish we had a little pond for tadpoles. Although, it would be heartbreaking to go out and one day have them all gone. I bet you'll be overrun with toads next year! ;o) HW
