Poor kitty, I hope he feels better soon. I think you will be surprised with the results if you can find Carbona Shampoozer. The pet stain version comes in a yellow plastic bottle. The regular version is in a red bottle. Both have a top with a sponge surrounded by a bristle brush. (Be sure to unscrew the top first and remove the inner cap liner...took me a while to figure that one out) If you can find the pet stain version, the red bottle works as well. You shake the bottle, squeeze out the foam and rub it into the carpet. I usually use an old towel to rub over the carpet. Keep going till the stain is gone. Let it dry, then take an old hairbrush (I like the kind with the metal brush thingys with the little balls on the end) to separate the rug fibers. I had a dog with diarrhea and this stuff was the best. I now use it for cat vomit. Why do they always pick the rugs?

For most trades it's beneficial to them as well as you to stay as close to the work area as possible to save some steps and keep the project at hand and rolling smooth. Sometimes it can be taken outdoors or in a garage area but for the most part, there are elements that require it to be done in place. This means dusts and debris. A good tradesperson will do a quick, daily clean up getting set up for the next day and at the end of the project, do a respectfully decent clean up of the area concerned. It's common courtesy for the client as well as the trades coming in behind them and shows professionalism. You have to expect a certain amount of mess and not all trades people are going to show respect by picking up after them selves. It's the nature of the beast. You should focus your efforts on working things out with your builder "friend" and not sweat the small stuff such as cleaning up after a sloppy sub. I have a friend who did the most clean finish carpentry work i've seen as far as tight joints, clean cuts, right on detailing, but was the biggest slob as far as cleaning up after himself. Finish carpenters are typically clean, organized trades people, but as in my friends case, not always. Your concern should really dial in on the workmanship of the stairs as that is what you will be living with. The dust will get cleaned up one way or another and is a miniscule concern, imho.

Okay, so you have 72 blocks altogether....Here's what you need to do, assuming that the top can go together randomly: Sew two of your sections together along the long sides. You now have a section that measures, 8 blocks by 6 blocks. Set it aside. Take your remaining section and rip it apart across the center so that you have two sections that measure 3 blocks by 4 blocks. Restitch these together along the 3 block edges so that you make a section that measures 3 blocks by 8 blocks. Sew it across the top or bottom edge of your completed section. You now have a top that measures 8 blocks by 9 blocks. Clear as mud? It will help if you sketch it out on graph paper, which is what I did. Annie
