Check out this mess I made for supper..

Jan and I were sitting here discussing what we wanted for supper and came to the realization that neither of us was in the mood for any major cooking.

Add to that, tomarrow is our day to go grocery shopping and we don't do the take out thing so we had to come up with something quick and easy with what we had on hand.

Jan said we had some chipped beef, how about creamed chipped beef on toast. (As they said in the crocodile dundee movie, you can live on that, but it tastes like crap).

Nosing around in the fridge I found a full container of sour cream, then when I looked in the pantry I found a couple cans of chicken breast meat and a big bag of egg noodles so I mentally put it all together and this is what we ended up with...

Put the noodles on to boil, then while they were boiling I put two cups of milk in a large saute pan and added flour while it slowly heated to make a white milk gravy, to which I added the sour cream. I then opened a can of the chicken breast, drained it and added that to the pot. It still looked like it lacked something so I went rooting around again. In the freezer I found some frozen green peas, so I nuked them about three minutes to thaw and partially cook them (al dente") and added the peas to the pot.

When the noodles were done I drained them and put a large bed of noodles on the plate and spooned a liberal amount of my concoction on top.

The end result was sort of a chicken stroganoff, but the true test is in the tasting.

All I can say is, I made enough for four or five ppl, but when Jan and I were done eating, there was no leftovers...LOL
