Any chance this weather pattern will change?
Comments (13)Here's what we're getting: >>Missoula temperatures look to be on the rise, albeit slightly, this weekend, with a high of 68 degrees predicted on Friday, 71 on Saturday and the mid-60s on Sunday. When it will all end, nobody knows - but on Thursday, Kitsmiller said Montanans should be braced to deal with high water for much of the summer, due to the persistence of cool weather through the month of June so far. As of Thursday, Missoula's average high daily temperature during the month of June was a full 8 degrees lower than the historical average. "We could be worrying about flooding for most or at least a good portion of the summer," he said. "We just haven't seen anything quite like this in the past. We've had years with a lot of snow and rain, but this has been odd because we still have all the snow up in the mountains, we haven't warmed up, and we keep getting system after system of wet weather and cool weather coming through. "Even with this much snow, we normally would have lost it and flooded already due to warming temperatures," he continued, "but because it's been cool, we keep pushing it back."...See Moreany chance this isn't poison ivy?
Comments (6)Poison ivy is ubiquitous around me here in NJ this year! Maybe there has always been the same amount around, I don't know, but I have it all over my property too and I AM very allergic to it. I live at the edge of woods, and apparently that is Poison Ivy nirvana! Have it now in the outdoor shower and roof gutters. There is a product that you can buy that you can apply to yourself after potential exposure to reduce the risk of a reaction if you do get exposed. Had a bad reaction earlier this season to poison ivy. (If you do get it, lay off the mangos as they are in the very same botanical family, 'Anacardiaceae', with the identical chemical compound that causes the rash. (I do eat mangos but avoid them after I have been exposed to the ivy.) The only positive with this thing is that there is research to show that exposure does seem to be related to a reduced risk of SKIN CANCER (probably because your body is on heightened alert in dealing with the ivy reaction). As always, whatever doesn't end up KILLING YOU, MAKES YOU STRONGER! P.S., As an additional clue in the identification, the lower stems on poison ivy will seem slightly reddish... (yes, like its mango kin)....See MoreHelp! Island isn’t deep enough for new cooktop
Comments (21)The downdraft requires 2 1/4". The cooktop requires 19 1/8". Total of 21 5/8". It's not clear what the 'lip' measurement is of the cooktop, but I'll guess about 1/4". Brings us to 21 7/8". So whats the interior measurement of your 24" cabinet? And how deep is your counter top?...See MoreAny chance someone can ID these mystery seedlings?
Comments (8)@floral_uk z.8/9 SW UK @dbarron I appreciate the healthy skepticism! This is a west coast seller with 2k 5 star reviews on Etsy, so I don't share the skepticism just yet. I got an immediate refund so no concerns there. Who knows for sure, but I was really just curious if we could ID them!...See Moreklem1
