Lazydaisy. the nest on the NU site is located to the best of my knowledge in British Columbia Canada. This nest is on private property and this pair has been nesting in this spot for a few years now. The owner of the property had to get permission to install the cameras because eagles are so protected they did not want to intefere with the mating/nesting/hatching/raising process of the eagles. The owner of the property had started this out on his own and had gotten such a large demande from the public to be able to view the eagles that he asked for assistance and Nothern Utilities stepped in to help out. The feed is live 24/7 and this nest has 3 eaglettes. I was only seeing one, but this morning I say the other one and he/she is much smaller than his/her brother or sister. I am happy to see that both has made it this far. Louise

I'm in the Binghamton area. While building the Presidential Helicopter Building in Owego NY we were honored to have a pair of Bald Eagles watching our work progress. They would fly in fish the pond then sit in the trees and watch us work.The interesting part was we were being watched by Americas greatest symbol while constructing the building that our next presidents helicopter would be built in.Talk about Big Brother watching! The pair nests nearby on an island in the river.There are others . I'm told one that flew over my truck while driving up Kattelville Hill is one of a pair nesting at Chenango Valley State Park.Last winter I made a short trips to the Cannonsville Resv. area. Between there and the Binghamton area I saw 10 different eagles in one week.They are awsome beautiful birds.

Since DDT was banned, the eagles have returned. It took a long time for the poisons to purge out of the Great Lakes, but now eagles may be seen often along the shores of the Great Lakes. They like to scout for dead fish on the shore, but sometimes they will go after ducks in the river. The first time I can recall seeing a Bald Eagle in the wild was on a motorcycle ride, which turned out to be my last one in IL. It was a crisp November day and I was riding a nice curvy road paralleling the Rock River heading north. I had just navigated a tight curve when a large shadow passed me. I looked up into the sun and thought I saw the white tail feathers. I thought....nah, couldn't be....and then it turned its head towards me and there was that magnificent head. It soared over the river looking for fish, following my route for a little while. It was just the bird and me along the river. Down here, we have Reelfoot Lake in NW TN, which is a popular place for Bald Eagles to nest so I've seen quite a few more. But the day one was flying over the 5 acre pond in front of my house was memorable. I missed it flying but caught the crows chasing it. The Eagle had just caught a fish and the crows were trying to get it away from the Eagle. It had the fish in its talons, lifted up off the ground and flew a short distance to eat. I watched it dine while the crows pestered it.
